Robert Waller Bursary

Awarded to only two students, the Robert Waller Bursary grant amounts to 1,250 CAD. The grant is designed for the UG students of the University of Calgary, entering the third year of their program.

The bursary amount must be used for the payment of the tuition fee only.
Applications for the Robert Waller Bursary 2023 must be made before May 1
Selections are majorly based on academic scores in previous years.
Only those students who are majoring in Accounting are eligible to apply for this grant.

Applicants and recipients of the Robert Waller Bursary must note that the amount cannot be used against health cover, travel expenses, living and accommodation expenses to stay in Canada.

Eligibility Criteria

Robert Waller Bursary program is open for students of all nationalities, studying a UG program at the University of Calgary. However, applicants must fulfill the following requirements to be considered for the scholarship program:

Applicants should be entering the third year of their UG program.
Offered annually to continuing undergraduate students entering third year in the Haskayne School of Business with an Accounting concentration
Demonstration of excellent academic records in the first and second years of the UG program.
Applicants must have achieved a minimum grade point average of 2.60
OR a minimum of 24 units in the previous fall and winter terms.

Apart from this, there as no special restrictions on the applicants.

Application Process

The application process for Robert Waller Bursary begins as soon as the applicant fulfills the eligibility criteria. The two-step application process for the award is mentioned below:

Applicants must visit MyUofC Portal, to access the scholarship application.
- No specific documents are required.
Complete the Robert Waller Bursary application as per the guidelines laid by the UCalgary.

Only those applications will be considered, for the award, that are submitted before May 1.

Selection Process

Since the selection of the students to the Robert Waller Scholarship is limited to three, a tough screening process is followed by the International Desk panel of the Scholarship program.

Based entirely on merit, the candidate’s academic records are taken into consideration along with the dedication and motivation the student holds.

During the process, the financial constraints of the candidate are also considered as a determining factor in decision making.

Recipients will be notified to make a letter of acceptance and complete the remaining formalities, tentatively by July.

Grant Details

To honor the contributions made by Robert Waller in his field of study, the CPA foundation has established the Robert Waller Bursary.

This grant is awarded annually to the UG students with academic excellence and a uniform grade record, entering the third year in the Haskayne School of Business at the University of Calgary.

Robert Waller Bursary has been formed with an intention to encourage students to pursue academic careers and to provide them with a platform of recognition. It also keeps a view towards those achieving students who might be unable to pursue higher education due to financial constraints.
