Vice-Chancellor's CQUni Connect Scholarship

Vice-Chancellor’s CQUni Connect Scholarship offers AUD 2,000 to one student pursuing a UG program at the university. 

  • Applicants are required to apply separately for the scholarship, by the CQUni established deadline.
  • Selections will be made on the basis of academic merit and written statement.
  • To renew the scholarship, recipients must fulfill the ongoing scholarship eligibility criteria. 

The scholarship is offered to the students from CQUni Connect Program partner schools that have showcased their understanding of the transformative opportunities that higher education studies provide.

Eligibility Criteria

Vice-Chancellor’s CQUNI Connect Scholarship requires applicants to fulfill the requirements given below:

  • Enrolling to study at an undergraduate program at CQ University.
  • Present in Australia at the time of scholarship application..

The candidate receiving another CQUniversity scholarship of similar or higher value will NOT be considered for Vice-Chancellor’s CQUni Connect Scholarship.

Ongoing Eligibility criteria

  • Successful Scholarship recipients must maintain a minimum GPA of 4.0 in each term
  • Should continue enrolment at Census date of Term 2

In case a student is not able to continue to meet the above ongoing eligibility, the scholarship will be withdrawn, unless, at the University’s discretion, extenuating circumstances are considered.


Application Process

To apply for Vice-Chancellor’s CQUni Connect Scholarship, eligible applicants must complete an online application form. In addition to the form, applicants must submit student supporting documents. 

  • Current students, who already have a CQUni Student ID number, must apply through MyCentre.
  • Incoming students must complete an external application form.

Student Supporting Documentation

The applicants need to provide the below-mentioned documents to the university:

  • Proof of academic achievements or unofficial transcript
  • Proof of community involvement, exemplary work
  • Demonstration of their leadership skills
  • An updated resume

Note: The students who submit incomplete applications will not be considered for the scholarship. The complete applications must be received by the Student Life and Wellbeing Centre, Scholarships Office by 5 pm AEST on the closing date.


Selection Process

The selection process of Vice-Chancellor’s CQUni Connect Scholarship comprises of the assessment of

  • Scholarship application
  • Written statement of 500 words,

The written statement must focus on the following aspects:

  1. Student’s career goals and how the scholarship amount can help in achieving educational objectives in the future.
  2. Involvement in extracurricular activities,– especially community and volunteering activities and demonstration of leadership qualities.
  3. Life experiences

A selection panel including representatives from CQUniversity will short-list the eligible applicants for the scholarship amount. The Vice-Chancellor will give his/her final approval of the successful applicant. The applicants will be informed about the result of their applications after the decision has been finalized.

Expectations from the Recipient

  • The recipient will be encouraged to participate in the CQUni Connect Program whenever possible. Involvement in the program involves casual paid work as a CQUni Connect Assistant. The CQUni Connect Coordinator will get in touch with the recipients to discuss this in detail.
  • The recipients have to take part in a recipient feedback survey
  • The recipient can also be approached to promote the CQUniversity Scholarships Program by sharing their experiences as a recipient through media. Sometimes they are asked to attend events like Orientation or Open Day as well.

Grant Details

First-year and continuing students of CQUni enrolled in a UG program are eligible to opt for financial aid, offered under Vice-Chancellor’s CQUni Connect Scholarship. 

Payment of scholarship

  • The successful applicants are supposed to enter their current financial institution details (banking details) into their MyCentre for payment to occur.
  • The students have to do it before Census date Term 1
  • The scholarship amount will be granted to the successful applicant in Week 6 after final post Census date eligibility checks each term.
  • The amount will be credited electronically to the student’s nominated bank account.
