U of T International Scholar Award

U of T International Scholar Award is offered to international students who wish to pursue higher education in Canada at Universit of Toronto (U of T). U of T International Scholar Award can be undertaken at following faculty or division :

Faculty of Arts and Science (including Rotman Commerce)
Faculty of Applied Science & Engineering
University of Toronto Mississauga
University of Toronto Scarborough

The applicant must be beginning their UG studies at the faculties and divisions listed above.

The award amount of 80,000 to 1,80,000 CAD is given to the recipients of the scholar award.
The award is renewable for up to three years if terms and conditions are met by the recipients.

No external application is required, the selection is based on the academic merit of the candidates.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants who want to secure U of T International Scholar Award must fulfill eligibility requirements listed below:

The applicant must be an incoming international student.
Must be starting UG program at one of following faculties or divisions of U of T:
- Faculty of Arts and Science (including Rotman Commerce)
- Faculty of Applied Science & Engineering
- University of Toronto Scarborough
- University of Toronto Mississauga
Must have completed high secondary with high academic records.
Must be fully satisfying the conditions of the offer of admission to the U of T

Application Process

No external application form is required to be considered for the U of T International Scholar Award.

Candidates will be evaluated on their admission application.

Selection Process

The selection committee at U of T will evaluate the admission application case-by-case.

Recipients will be selected based on their academic merit.

Selected students will be notified by the respective department at the University of Toronto.

Grant Details

U of T International Scholar Award is offered to new international students enrolled at specific faculties of divisions of the University of Toronto.

Award amount up to 1,80,000 CAD is given to the recipients at the university and is renewable for up to three years.

Terms and conditions regarding U of T International Scholar Award:

Completion of your secondary school program with high academic standing and fully satisfying the conditions of your offer of admission to Rotman Commerce at the University of Toronto, as indicated in your Join U of T portal. The University reserves the right to withdraw this award offer if these conditions are not satisfied.
First year students must be registered full-time, complete at least 4.0 credits by the end of the Fall/Winter session and meet all Guaranteed Admission (GA) requirements by the end of the Summer session. An exception is made for students registered with Accessibility Services with a reduced course load accommodation. NOTE: Transfer credits are not included in the credit count.
Full-time registration and completion of at least 4.0 credits by the end of each Fall/Winter session in Years 2, 3 and 4 (consecutive) in a Rotman Commerce specialist. An exception is made for students registered with Accessibility Services with a reduced course load accommodation. The summer session may not be used to meet the 4.0 credit requirement.
Registration as an international student (i.e. a non-Canadian requiring a study permit). International students charged domestic fees are not eligible for this award.
Registration in the Rotman Commerce program at the Faculty of Arts and Science; the award is not transferable to other campuses or faculties.
