Outstanding International Student (OIS) Award is a one-time, merit-based entry scholarship at University of British Columbia given to qualifying candidates upon acceptance to UBC. Students that are chosen for this award have strong academic performance as well as extracurricular engagement.
Students selected for UBC Outstanding International Student Award are expected to show strength academically and display involvement outside of the classroom.

The applicant must be an international student holding a Canadian Student Visa to study at the university. To be eligible for the Outstanding International Student (OIS) Award, you must meet the following requirements:
No separate application is required to be considered for the UBC Outstanding International Student Award. Candidates are judged based on their admission application to UBC.
So, candidates are advised to submit the admission application by January 15, 2023, to be considered for the scholarship.
Note: Late application submission will not be entertained by the university.
Candidates will be considered for OIS Award after they receive an offer of admission to the University of British Columbia.
The selection committee will review academic scores, ELP scores, and personal statement submitted with admission application.
Decisions regarding recipients of the award are taken between mid-March to the end of April each year.
