Oxford and Cambridge Society of India (OCSI) Scholarships

The Oxford and Cambridge Society of India (OCSI) Scholarship is awarded to the candidates opting for any undergraduate, graduate, research, or certificate program at the University of Oxford and University of Cambridge

  • The Oxford and Cambridge Society of India selects one scholar every year for the scholarship. However, the number is subject to change as per the decision of the association.
  • OCSI is a part-cost scholarship, which benefits academically and provides Indian students with financial aid during their study.

The OCSI Scholarship is available for a number of programs at Oxford University and Cambridge University. Furthermore, students opting for admissions in any college affiliated by the mentioned universities can also apply for the scholarship.

  • The Oxford and Cambridge Society of India Scholarships offers an Equal Opportunity to all applicants
    • Decisions are irrespective of race, colour, religion, disability, age (except for maximum age criterion), sex or ancestry.
  • The OCSI scholarships worth INR 200,000 will be given to each of the following 2 scholarships holders tenable at either the University of Cambridge or the University of Oxford.:
    • OCSI K.K. Luthra Memorial Scholarship
    • OCSI Anita Banerji Memorial Scholarship.
  • 1 scholarship worth INR 100,000 tenable only at Emmanuel College, University of Cambridge, from Emmanuel College Cambridge (India) Trust.
  • 1 scholarship worth INR 100,000 tenable only at St. Hilda's College, Oxford, from Ritika Dhamija.
  • Candidates will receive a letter of support from OCSI for other scholarship awarding bodies.
  • Candidates will receive complimentary life membership of the Oxford and Cambridge Society of India.
  • Candidates will receive mentoring and guidance from a member of The OCSI.

Note: Each year The Oxford and Cambridge Society of India seeks to raise funds and receive other grants that become available by June each year. Candidates applying for The OCSI scholarships will be eligible for any such additional grants as well.

Eligibility Criteria

In the first place, students need to opt for any part-time or full-time programs at Cambridge University, Oxford University or in any of the colleges affiliated by the two to be eligible for the scholarship. Further shortlisting of the candidates is done on the basis of the eligibility criteria defined by the universities.

Eligibility criteria as per the universities::

  • Must be an Indian citizen, residing in the country.
  • Must not be older than 30 years of age, as of September 1, on the year as per the year of application for the award.
  • Must have secured admission to Cambridge or Oxford University.
  • Must have proof of residence at Oxford or Cambridge before the scholarship funds are released.

Note: Candidates are supposed to get admitted in the Oxford or Cambridge University via the normal academic procedure. OCSI will not assist them in the admissions.

Terms and Conditions

  • Relatives of the members of the executive committee of the OCSI are not eligible to apply.
  • Students who have already received a commitment for full outside support should not apply.
  • Students who get awarded any other scholarship support after getting the OCSI Scholarship should inform the society so that the award may be passed on to the next ranked candidate.

Application Process

Students applying for the OCSI scholarship should possess an offer letter from Oxford or Cambridge University or any of the affiliated colleges. Students going to apply for the scholarship are supposed to consider a few points, have a look:

  • Application forms for the scholarship can be availed from the official website of Oxford and Cambridge Society of India by mid-February, every year.
  • Completed applications must reach the society by May 15, 2023.
  • All the shortlisted candidates will be required to appear for an interview at New Delhi, around early June 2023.
  • Candidates who will qualify for the interview round will be awarded scholarships by mid-July 2023.

The Oxford and Cambridge Society was founded in the 1960s and it is basically an alumni network of the students from both the mentioned universities. The society has a total number of 600 members. The society headquarters are situated in Delhi.
