New to GCU Postgraduate Scholarship

Pursuing a master’s degree at an accredited university like GCU is not economical for international students. Through New to GCU Postgraduate Scholarship Program, the university encourages students to study at Glasgow Caledonian University. The scholarship program is designed as a tuition fee reduction for incoming full-time master’s taught and research program students.

  • All eligible students securing admission to the PG program are automatically awarded the scholarship.
  • Recipients of the master’s taught program receive an overall scholarship amount of GBP 2,600 (USD 3,247).
    • GBP 1,600 (USD 1,998) is given in Year I and GBP 1,000 (USD 1,248) in Year II.
  • Master’s research degree students receive the scholarship amount of GBP 3,600 ( USD 4,496)
    • GBP 1,600 (USD 1,998) is paid in Year I and GBP 1,000 (USD 1,248) each in Year II and Year III.
  • Award amount must be used for tuition fees and NOT to cover UK’s accommodation and living expenses.

New to GCU Postgraduate Scholarship program doesn’t have any separate application process. Applicants will be evaluated based on their admission application. International students who are offered admission will be automatically awarded the scholarship too.

Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility requirements for the New to GCU Postgraduate Scholarships are:

  • International student belonging to any country outside the UK/EU.
  • Enrolling in a full-time Master’s degree at the Glasgow Caledonian University
    • Applicable for both taught and research programs.
  • Applying for the GCU postgraduate degree for the first time.
  • Self-funded students; must not be sponsored by anyone.
  • Some progressive work experience in relevant field

All international students fulfilling the above criteria will be considered for this tuition fee reduction scholarship program. 


Application Process

The Glasgow Caledonian University doesn’t require applicants to submit any additional scholarship application form. They will verify every student’s eligibility on the basis of the details mentioned in the form submitted for admission to GCU.

For the admission purpose and in turn the New to GCU Postgraduate Scholarship, students need to fulfill certain academic and non-academic requirements. Details of the same are tabulated below:

Selection Process

The New to GCU Postgraduate Scholarship doesn’t have any specific selection criteria as all the eligible students are awarded scholarship reword. However, the university’s admission panel and scholarship committee will scrutinize the admission application carefully. 

Significant factors taken into consideration during the application evaluation are:

  • Academic performance
  • Career goals
  • Reference letters
  • Non-academic skillset

Apart from this, if required, the selection panel may call the applicant for an interview in person or through Skype.
