UCD MBA Scholarship

UCD MBA Scholarship is offered to students who wish to pursue an MBA and Executive MBA from UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate School. The scholarship aims to attract the best talent coming across the globe to study in Ireland at UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate School.

  • MBA applicants must have a GMAT score of 700 or above.
  • Executive MBA applicants scoring 700 or above on the GMAT or 149 and above in the Executive Assessment to be eligible.
  • The Achiever MBA Scholarship is a merit-based scholarship that covers the full tuition fees for MBA or Executive MBA students.
  • Up to 3 scholarship is awarded annually for MBA programs at UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate School.
  • The Achiever MBA Scholarship cannot be combined with any other tuition scholarship.

Applicants will be judged based on their admission application only. Hence they are advised to submit the same as early as possible.

Eligibility Criteria

In order to secure the UCD MBA Scholarship, applicants must meet the eligibility requirements listed below:

  • MBA applicants must have a GMAT score of 700 or above.
  • Executive MBA applicants must either have a GMAT score of 700 or above or 149 and above in the Executive Assessment.
  • Must have an “Accept” or “Offer” status associated with their application by the GMAT deadline.

Note: Applicants who decline an initial offer for admission and accompanying scholarship offer are not eligible for the scholarship in case they reapply later.


Application Process

No separate application process is required for the UCD MBA Scholarship. Successful applicants for the MBA or the Executive MBA are automatically considered.

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Scholarships may be awarded prior to the closing date to exceptional candidates.


Selection Process

UCD MBA Scholarship is a merit-based scholarship. It is awarded to academically exceptional students who demonstrate leadership and impactful achievement in their career.

The scholarship is competitive and successful candidates are selected on the basis of merit paired with a holistic review of their MBA application. The selection committee will take into consideration the following documents:

  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Essay
  • Proof of proficiency in English Language(IELTS/TOEFL scores)
  • GMAT official scorecard or confirmation of a scheduled GMAT test
  • Official Transcripts of academic degrees and professional qualifications
  • Recommendation letters

Successful candidates will be notified within two weeks of the committee decision.


Grant Details

Achiever MBA Scholarship is offered to students who wish to pursue an MBA or Executive MBA program at UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate School.

No separate application is required. Selection is done on the admission application.

Up to three awards covering 100% tuition fee waivers are given to the recipients.

Terms and conditions regarding UCD MBA Scholarship are listed below:

  • Recipients must accept the scholarship offer within two weeks of the notification by the Scholarship Committee.
  • They must formally accept the scholarship offer, a non-response would be considered a declination of the offer.
  • The recipients of the scholarship must commit to attending UCD Smurfit Open Events whenever required.
  • They are also expected to assist occasionally as ambassadors for the Graduate School.
  • In order to retain the scholarship, the recipients must ensure continuous full-time enrollment and attendance.
  • The scholarship cannot be deferred.
  • It is also non-transferable and will only apply to the program associated with the offer letter.
