Waterloo Graduate Scholarship

Waterloo Graduate Scholarship is offered to students who wish to pursue higher education in Canada at the University of Waterloo. They must enroll themselves either into doctorate and master’s degrees at the University of Waterloo to be eligible.

  • Candidates must have minimum first-class (80%) cumulative average in the current program or;
    • over the last two full-time academic years to be eligible.
  • Selected students will get 1000 CAD for three terms of the intended program of study.
    • Award value varies in duration if the recipient is already being funded by some other organization.

No external applications are required to be submitted by the candidates, the respective department will automatically consider the eligible students.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants who wish to obtain Waterloo Graduate Scholarship must meet the eligibility criteria mentioned below:

  • An applicant can be a domestic or international student.
  • Applicants must score a minimum of 80% as a cumulative average either in their present program or
    • Have to maintain the same score in their last full time based academic programs.

Applicants willing to pursue a Master’s or Doctoral program at the University of Waterloo are eligible.


Application Process

No external applications are required to be submitted, candidates will be automatically considered for Waterloo Graduate Scholarship.

Respective departments and faculties will nominate the eligible candidates at the University of Waterloo.


Selection Process

Eligible candidates for Waterloo Graduate Scholarship will be automatically selected by the Faculty or the Department authorities.

Academic records, LOR, ELP scores are taken into consideration while making the final decision.
