University of Twente Scholarship

University of Twente Scholarship program is applicable for incoming domestic and international students, commencing master’s coursework program at the university. The recipients of this scholarship at University of Twente get between 3,000 EUR- 22,000 EUR for one year.

  • Annually 50 scholarships are awarded to eligible incoming students.
  • Grant amount covers all study-related costs such as tuition fees, accommodation, books & supplies, and traveling.
  • Previous graduates of the University of Twente are not eligible to apply for the scholarship.
  • Applicants of any UT master’s program, except geo-information science can avail of this scholarship.
  • Separate University of Twente Scholarship application must be submitted, after confirmation of admission.
  • Scholarship recipients generally belong to top 5-10% of their class.

Additional University of Twente Scholarship will be provided to students for a two-year study program for an amount equal to that as provided in the first year of Scholarship.

Eligibility Criteria

As an aspirant of the University of Twente Scholarship, you must fulfill all the eligibility requirements given below:

  • An unconditional or conditional offer of admission to the University of Twente.
    • Selection decision is provided within eight weeks of application submission.
  • Belonging to a scholarship eligible country such as India, Canada, Bhutan, etc.
  • Fulfill general English test requirement by submitting an IELTS or TOEFL score
    • IELTS: 6.5
    • TOEFL-iBT: 90

NOTE: This scholarship is NOT available for the Master’s program at the faculty of geo-information science and earth observation.


Application Process

Applications for the UT Scholarship must be submitted separately from the admission application. However, an admission letter must be acquired first for the University of Twente Scholarship. This is because having a UT student number is mandatory for the next process.

Along with the completion of the UT Scholarship application form, applicants must fulfill the following requirements:

  • Netherlands student visa to pursue the chosen program
  • Provisional admission offer letter
  • IELTS score of 6.5/ TOEFL-iBT score of 90.
APPLICATION DEADLINES & DETAILS

Application deadline - round 1:

  • Application form opens per 15 October 2022, 09.00 CET
  • Application forms closes per 1 February 2023, 16.00 CET (for programmes starting September 2023)

Application deadline - round 2:

  • Application form opens per 1 February 2023, 16.00 CET
  • Application form closes per 1 May 2023, 16.00 CET (for programmes starting September 2023)

If you applied in round 1, and your application was rejected, an application in round 2 is not considered. You can only be awarded with one UT scholarship.


Selection Process

The University of Twente Scholarship program is specifically designed for academically excellent students, meaning, the best 5% to 10% of the class. The selection panel of the University Scholarship Programme will screen every eligible application and verify the details.

Recipients of the University of Twente Scholarship will be notified about the panel’s decision via an offer letter. However, it is only upon the acceptance of the scholarship offer that the awardee will be informed of any necessary formalities which are to be completed.

University of Twente Scholarship amount is solely meant to cover the recipient’s study-related costs, including travel and living costs to study in the Netherlands. The recipients must also remember that the university is not liable to pay any other expenses on their behalf. All the other expenses must be borne by the recipients only.
