RGU Total Computing Scholarship

RGU Total Computing Scholarship is offered to undergraduate students pursuing a Computer science degree at Robert Gordon University (RGU). The award is designed for undergraduate students who are enrolled on campus at Robert Gordon University.

  • Students in the second year of UG degree in Computer Science are eligible to apply.
  • Separate a[pplications must be sent to the university for consideration.
    • Completed forms must be submitted to placements@rgu.ac.uk
  • Selected students will receive 1500 GBP annually.

Recipients of RGU Total Computing Scholarship will be required to participate in outreach activity for the School of Computing alongside senior colleagues from Total.

The objective of the outreach activity is to raise awareness of careers in computing amongst students whilst developing the Total scholars' presentation, communication, and professional skills.

Eligibility Criteria

Students who want to obtain the RGU Total Computing Scholarship must meet the eligibility requirements listed below :

  • Applicants must be pursuing the second year of an undergraduate degree.
  • They should be registered full time, on-campus at the university

Must be pursuing BSc (Hons) computing science from the RGU’s School of Computing Science and Digital Media.


Application Process

External application form for the RGU Total Computing Scholarship must be submitted. Candidates must submit a complete application form at placements@rgu.ac.uk

Applicants must submit personal and educational background details. They must also answer the questions listed below:

  • Give details of any generic computer packages/programming languages that you use and specify your proficiency (limited/working knowledge/extensive).
  • Indicate any other specific relevant skills (laboratory techniques, graphic skills, etc).
  • Please tell us about your reasons for pursuing your chosen scholarship(s) and your ambitions for the future.


Selection Process

The selection process of the RGU Total Computing Scholarship begins with completing the online application. Applications will be considered by a panel consisting of representatives from TOTAL.

The selection panel would then shortlist applicants on the grounds of the applicant’s educational background and achievements, other relevant information given in their application form.

The shortlisted candidates would then be required to attend an interview, which would be conducted by TOTAL.

Recipients of the RGU Total Computing Scholarship will then be notified.


Grant Details

International students who wish to study in the UK at RGU with some financial help are encouraged to apply for the RGU Total Computing Scholarship.

It is offered to one selected student computer science at RGU, sponsored by the international gas and oil company TOTAL 

The recipient of this award would be given a sum of 1500 GBP yearly. They would also be required to participate in the university’s outreach activity for the school of computing, besides a few senior colleagues from Total.
