UWA Undergraduate Scholarship (India)

UWA Undergraduate Scholarship (India) is awarded to Indian students who have demonstrated high academic achievement during high school studies. Students must undertake a UG degree program at the University of Western Australia (UWA) to be eligible.

  • Candidates must be enrolled as full-time students at the university.
  • Applicants for UWA Undergraduate Scholarship (India) will be automatically considered.
  • The award amount of 3000 USD TO 7000 USD is offered to the recipients.
    • It will depend upon ATR scores, CBSC aggregates, and state boards’ results.
  • The scholarship is renewable for the duration of the UG program i.e. for three years.

Recipients of the UWA Undergraduate scholarship must accept their award offer within 30 days, otherwise, the scholarships will be distributed to other deserving candidates.

Eligibility Criteria

To secure the UWA Undergraduate Scholarship (India), eligible candidates must meet eligibility requirements listed below:

  • Enrolment Type: Students must be enrolled full-time at the University of Western Australia.
  • Citizenship: Must be a citizen of India
  • English language proficiency requirement: Applicant must satisfy the following language proficiency requirements with one of the given tests-
    • TOEFL- Overall 82
    • IELTS- Overall 6.5 (no band less than 6.0)
    • PTE- Overall 64
  • High school scores: Applicants must have either of the following scores:
    • CBSE Aggregate-13.5
    • IB Diploma Equivalent-31
    • CISCE Average-70
    • State Boards- 89%
  • Must also meet admission requirements of the particular program at the university. 


Application Process

Candidates for  UWA Undergraduate scholarship(India) are automatically considered if they meet eligibility criteria and admission requirements at UWA. They will be evaluated based on their admission application sent to the university. Therefore, no separate scholarship application is required. 

However, students must ensure that they complete their admission application process on time. Incomplete applications and delayed applications will not be considered.


Selection Process

Applications are analyzed by a panel of selectors at the University of Western Australia. Selection of the recipients is based on the following factors:

  • English Proficiency Requirements
  • Academics Excellence
  • High School Grades
  • Past Achievements

Recipients have to accept the scholarship offer within 30 days from the date of the offer being made. If they fail to do so, the university may revoke the scholarship offer.


Grant Details

Indian students who wish to study at the University of Western Australia with some financial help are eligible for UWA Undergraduate Scholarship (India). They must pursue UG programs at UWA for consideration.

Recipients are offered an amount upto 7000 USD to cover tuition fees for the course.

Terms and Conditions regarding UWA Undergraduate Scholarships (India)

  • Payment will be made twice in a year and is awarded as a reduction in tuition fees. No cash awarded.
  • Remain enrolled in a full-time course at the University of Western Australia.
  • Maintain their satisfactory progress to take the continuing benefit of the UWA Undergraduate Scholarships (India).
  • The reduced fee only applies if the student successfully maintains a 100% load ( 48 points).
  • The scholarship will not be extended if a student fails to complete within the total course durations.
  • It is awarded as the recipient’s course fees in two equal installments each semester.
