UAlberta Master's Entrance Scholarship

UAlberta Master's Entrance Scholarship is presented to both domestic and international students who wish to pursue higher studies at the University of Alberta. Students must meet admission requirements at the University of Alberta to be eligible.

They must pursue full-time masters program University of Alberta at the university.
No external applications are required, respective departments will nominate eligible students.
The deadline for the department to submit details of nominees is April 17, 2023.
Recipients of UAlberta Master's Entrance Scholarship will get an annual stipend of 17,500 CAD.
- Also, domestic students will get 5800 CAD for living expenses.
- International students will get 10,000 CAD for living expenses.

The objective of this scholarship is to provide support to newly admitted students at the master's level who have the potential to become excellent doctoral students.

Eligibility Criteria

Both domestic or international students are eligible to apply for the Alberta Master's Entrance Scholarship. In addition to that, they must meet the eligibility requirements listed below:

Students must take admission to the University of Alberta in either January, May, July or September 2023.
Must have an Admission GPA of 3.7 or higher.
Must be full-time registered during the tenure of the award.
Must be enrolled in any one of the master’s programs at the University of Alberta.

Open to course-based or thesis students

Application Process

No separate application form is required to be submitted. Eligible students will be considered on the recommendations of the respective department at the University of Alberta.

The respective department will complete and submit nominations to the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research (FGSR).

- Each letter of reference must be uploaded separately.
Academic Transcripts with certified translations.

Nominations along with required documents must be submitted by April 07, 2020.

Selection Process

The nominations for UAlberta Master's Entrance Scholarship sent by the college departments will be evaluated by FGSR.

The FGSR will then reviews the nominations for eligibility and completeness and forwards them to the Graduate Scholarship Committee for further consideration.

After the final decision is taken by the Graduate Scholarship Committee, recipients will be notified directly by them.

Recipients of UAlberta Master's Entrance Scholarship will get a stipend of 17, 000 CAD. They will also receive an additional amount of 5800 CAD (domestic students) and 10,000 CAD (International students ) to cover tuition fees.
