Newcastle Vice-Chancellor's International Scholarship

Newcastle University London offers incoming international students with small financial support through Newcastle Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarship. Selected recipients are awarded 1,500- 5,000 GBP, for the tuition fee of Newcastle University.

  • Annually, the scholarship is awarded to a maximum of 200 eligible students.
  • Newcastle programs beginning in September are eligible for the scholarship program.
    • Courses offered in January are ineligible.
  • Newcastle Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarship is a purely merit-based award.
  • Applicable for students entering UG and PG programs at the Newcastle University.

Applicants fulfilling the eligibility criteria will be automatically considered for the Newcastle Vice-chancellor’s International Scholarship. Their profiles will be assessed for the scholarship as a part of their academic course application. Meaning, their application for admission to the Newcastle University will be reviewed for the scholarship allotment as well.

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for the Newcastle Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarship, applicants must fulfill the following eligibility criteria:

  • Be assessed as overseas for fee purposes.
  • Citizenship: From India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, or Vietnam
  • Level of Study: enrolling in the UG or PG program at Newcastle University.
  • Secured admission to study the chosen program at the university.
  • If the applicant’s first language is not English, their TOEFL or IELTS test scores will also be considered.

Note: The requirements are different according to the country, so applicants are requested to check the requirements based on their country on the official website.

Eligible Courses

Some of the eligible courses available for the Newcastle Vice-Chancellor's International Scholarship are as follows:

Master of Business Administration BEng Honours in Electrical and Electronic Engineering
BSc Honours in Computer Science MSc in Computer Science
International Legal Studies LLM MSc in Renewable Energy, Enterprise and Management (REEM)

Non-Eligible Students

  • Pathway students taking admission from INTO Newcastle.
  • Applicants for MBBS, BDS, MPhil, Doctoral, Postgraduate Certificate, Postgraduate Diploma, Online degree program courses.
  • Applicants applying through Clearing.
  • Current students, registered at the university, who have already commenced their undergraduate/postgraduate degree at the time of the award.
  • Applicants initially assessed as international for fee purposes but whose fees change to “home”.
  • Students transferring or repeating courses.
  • Study abroad and exchange students.

Grant Details

Newcastle University presents a number of partial scholarships every year to assist international students with good qualifications to study Masters or undergraduate degree. Through this, the students get an opportunity to study in the UK

  • The scholarship amount will be credited to the recipients’ fee account to reduce the overall tuition fees.
  • Only programs beginning in September are eligible.

Applicants must remember that the Newcastle Vice-chancellor’s International Scholarship is renewable annually. However, it is subject to academic progression.
