Imperial College President's Undergraduate Scholarship

Imperial College President’s Undergraduate Scholarship program awards and recognizes the academic merit and potentials of incoming undergraduate students. Students from all nationalities, entering Imperial College London, are considered for this scholarship.

  • Up to 50 scholarships will be awarded to the applicants beginning their program in 2023-24.
  • Recipients of Imperial College President’s Undergraduate Scholarship program are awarded 1000 GBP (99,900 INR) each.
  • Scholarship is applicable for UG programs at the Imperial College of London.
  • Offer holders of the scholarship scheme will be notified on UCAS by January 2023.
  • Selected scholars are welcome to apply for the President’s Ambassador Scheme.

All the first-time undergraduate students who have applied to the Imperial College of London, before November 01, will be automatically considered for the Imperial College President’s Undergraduate Scholarship.

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for the Imperial College President's Undergraduate Scholarships, the following eligibility criteria must be met:

  • Students of any nationality are eligible to apply for this scholarship.
  • Must be able to demonstrate the highest academic excellence and potential.
  • English Language Proficiency test score:
    • IELTS score of 6.5 with a minimum of 6.0 in all elements.
    • PTE of 62 with a minimum of 56 in all elements.
  • International students who have applied first-time for an undergraduate course in the university and also have received an offer by Friday, January 8.

Note: ICL’s Graduate Entry Medicine applicants are not eligible for this scholarship.


Application Process

There is no need to separately apply for the President’s Undergraduate Scholarship. As part of the college admission procedure, every academic department is responsible for nominating scholarship recipients on the basis of:

  • UCAS application
  • References
  • Entrance tests if taken
  • Interviews (if any) associated with the respective departments.

All first-time undergraduate applicants, of any nationality, must apply to the College by November 01.

Documents Required:

  • Academic transcripts
  • Personal statement: Max 4000 words
  • Letters of Recommendation (from a teacher, adviser, or professional who knows the student academically)
  • English language Proficiency test scorecard.

Selection Process


Grant Details

President's Undergraduate Scholarships are the most prestigious awards the College has to offer. They are designed to reward students who demonstrate the highest academic excellence and potential.  Selection for the Imperial College President's Undergraduate Scholarships is strictly based on the applicant's academic merit and potential.

  • Recipients of the scholarships may find their selection information as a part of their admission offer via UCAS Track.
  • Selected candidates will receive a separate communication from Imperial’s Student Financial Support team a few days later.

As mentioned earlier, each Imperial College President’s Undergraduate Scholarship recipient will receive 1000 GBP (99,900 INR).

  • Amount is given as a reward and a one-time payment. Therefore, it is non-renewable and non-refundable.
  • President’s scholarships are funded entirely by philanthropic donations from generous alumni and supporters of the ICL.

Academic departments are responsible for nominating scholarship recipients as part of the admission process. All first-time undergraduate applicants who have applied to the College by October will be considered for these awards.
