UWE Bristol Chancellor's Scholarship

UWE Bristol Chancellor’s Scholarship offers one international student an opportunity to pursue postgraduate studies at University of West England. With a 50% tuition fee waiver on the chosen UWE master’s program, the recipient will receive the necessary financial support.

  • Bristol Chancellor’s Scholarship is awarded on the basis of academic potential.
  • Recipients will have to deposit GBP 3000 to accept the scholarship offer.
    • Must be done within a week.
  • Applicants should not be a recipient of another UWE scholarship or a sponsored student.
  • Applicable for all PG coursework programs at the University of the West of England.
  • Applications for UWE Bristol Chancellor’s Scholarship September 2023 must be made before May 31, 2023.
  • Recipients will have to undertake an internship at one of the UWE departments.

Applicants and recipients must remember that the UWE Bristol Chancellor’s Scholarship will only cover have of their program’s tuition fee. The chosen student must cover the remaining program fees and the cost of accommodation and travel in the UK.

Eligibility Criteria

In order to apply for UWE Bristol Chancellor’s Scholarship, applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • International student; classed as overseas for fees purposes
  • Enrolling in a postgraduate program at the University of the West of England
  • Excellent and consistent academic grades in the bachelor’s program.
    • Equivalent of British 1st in an undergraduate degree.
  • Proof of English language proficiency through IELTS or TOEFL
  • Conditional or unconditional offer of admission to the UWE Bristol
  • Not sponsored student or a recipient of another scholarship.

Applicants must provide the original documents (including transcripts, scorecards of exams to study in the UK, financial statement).


Application Process

The application deadline for the UWE Bristol Chancellor’s Scholarship 2023 (September session) is May 31, 2023.

Applicants fulfilling the eligibility criteria will be invited to apply for the scholarship via their UWE Welcome Portal. After signing in, applicants must complete their Bristol Chancellor’s Scholarship task.

Only those applicants who have an offer of admission to the University of the West of England will be considered for the award.


Selection Process

The UWE Bristol Chancellor’s Scholarship selection committee will comprise of the experts from the university.

Shortlisting and selections will be based on the following factors:

  • Details provided in the application form
  • IELTS/TOEFL score
  • Academic transcripts

UWE Bristol Chancellor’s Scholarship 2023 recipients will be notified via email by June 26, 2023.

Recipients of the scholarship must undertake an internship working within the UWE’s International office or any other department. Plus, they are required to undertake the ambassadorial activity; throughout the duration of the program.

Recipients of the UWE Bristol Chancellor’s Scholarship 2020, who accept the offer must deposit 3000 GBP. Furthermore, recipients are also required to verify that they satisfy the UKVI criteria, that is, the terms and conditions of the UK Student visa.

All this is done to ensure that the recipients will be able to cover the remainder of the fees and cost of living in the UK.
