Eligibility Criteria

To secure St. Andrews The Kinnessburn Scholarship, students must meet the eligibility requirements listed below:

  • Students must meet admission criteria at the University of St. Andrews.
  • Must be graduating from the Centre for International Foundation Program with a Distinction grade of 17 and above.
    • Completion of the Pathway to Medicine program means the completion of both phases.
  • Must enroll in one of the UG programs offered at the University of St. Andrews.

The scholarship is renewable for 3 years provided if the recipient:

  • Be fully enrolled at the University of St Andrews.
  • Meet and continue to meet the required eligibility criteria of the scholarship.
  • Set a good academic example, strive for best results, attend classes, finish the course on time.
  • Continue to demonstrate the exemplary student grades by which he/she originally received the Award.

After applying for admission at the University of St. Andrews, candidates can apply online through the “My Application” portal on the university website.

  1. Log in to 'My application'.
  2. Choose Scholarships and funding, under 'Useful links'. Choose View the scholarships and funding catalog.
  3. In 'Funding search', enter the academic year for which you are applying to.
  4. You will now see a list of many scholarships. To find a specific scholarship, search for the name in the Filter box.
  5. You can then proceed to apply for a particular scholarship.
    1. If one of your answers indicates you are ineligible for a fund the system will reject your application. If you have answered in error, you can edit and correct your application details and then re-apply for the fund.
  6. Complete the scholarship application along with an essay of 1500.

Selection Process

The selection for St. Andrews The Kinnessburn Scholarship is based on financial need.

Eligible candidates will be evaluated using a points-based system up to a maximum of 10 using the following criteria:

Grant Details

St. Andrews The Kinnessburn Scholarship assists students who wish to continue to study in the UK at the University of St. Andrews.

  • Students completing their foundation program and moving to the UG program at the University of St. Andrews are eligible.
  • The recipient will get 2000 GBP to be used against the tuition fee of the program.

Terms and Conditions regarding St. Andrews The Kinnessburn Scholarship:

  • The University will collect and process your personal data to manage Award applications.
  • Inform the scholarships team (scholarshipsandfunding@st-andrews.ac.uk):
    • immediately of any academic changes in circumstances including leave of absence, withdrawal or change.
    • Any change in their personal circumstances such as changes in financial status
    • Awarded any other external Awards or external funding.
  • The scholarship award will be terminated if the recipient does not:
    • Satisfactory academic progress.
    • Change the program of study.
    • Follow rules set by Disciplinary committee
