The Charlie Dimont Scholarship

Students who want to pursue postgraduate courses at the University of East Anglia (UEA) can avail of the benefit of The Charlie Dimont Scholarship. Students must enroll in either the School of Art, Media, and American Studies School of Politics, Philosophy, Language and Communication Studies at the University of East Anglia.

  • The recipient will be offered an amount of 2500 GBP either to cover tuition fees or maintenance charges.
    • This will be mentioned in the scholarship offer letter.
  • Also, submit personal statements stating the financial need and academic merit.

Since only one award is offered under The Charlie Dimont Scholarship, applicants must pay attention while writing a personal statement.

Scholarship panel at the university will select the best candidate based on academic records, financial need, a test score of exam to study in the UK, and personal statement of the candidate.

Eligibility Criteria

Prospective applicants coming from different backgrounds and nationalities are eligible to apply for The Charlie Dimont Scholarship. In addition to that, they must fulfill the eligibility requirements listed below:

  • The student must pursue one of the postgraduate courses offered by the University of East Anglia.
  • Must be registered under School: Politics, Philosophy, Language and Communication Studies or Art, Media and American Studies.
  • Preference will be given to MA Film Studies, MA Film, Television, and Creative Practice.
    • Also to students applying to the School of Politics, Philosophy, Language and Communication Studies.

Application Process

Students must have secured admission at the University of East Anglia to apply for The Charlie Dimont Scholarship. A separate application form must be submitted by prospective candidates.

  • They must submit a personal statement of 500 words stating the financial need to secure the scholarship.
  • Also, in another 500 words statement, they must convince the university that they are best suited for the scholarship.

Selection Process

Scholarship panel will be appointed by the university to select the recipient of The Charlie Dimont Scholarship.

The panel will evaluate application along with personal statements case-by-case. This may take a month.

The recipient will be notified about the outcome by the university itself. If no candidate of sufficient merit is found by the Scholarship Selection Panel, the scholarship will not be awarded.

Note: No student will be awarded the same Donor-Funded Scholarship more than once.


Grant Details

Students who wish to study in the UK at the University of East Anglia with some financial help can apply for The Charlie Dimont Scholarship. The scholarship amount of 2500 GBP is given to the recipient.

Terms and conditions regarding The Charlie Dimont Scholarship

  • Receipt of the scholarship is subject to completion of the University registration process by the given deadline.
  • The scholarship award may either be deducted directly from tuition fee charges by the University’s Finance Office.
    • It may be received as a maintenance grant payment direct to a bank account.
    • It will be paid in monthly installments from October –June.
  • Students can apply for more than one donor-funded scholarship.
    • They will be asked for preference if receive more than one scholarship.
  • Current UEA students are not eligible for this scholarship.
