Cardiff Vice-Chancellor's International Scholarship

Cardiff Vice-Chancellor's International Scholarship is designed to the recognized talent of international students who are planning to pursue higher studies at Cardiff University. Under this, an award amount of 2000 GBP is offered to the recipients.

  • The scholarship applies to both UG and PG programs offered by Cardiff University.
    • Postgraduate Certificate/Diploma awards are not included.
  • Students must hold an offer letter from Cardiff University.
  • Students from the specific countries will be automatically considered for Cardiff Vice-Chancellor's International Scholarship.

Students from Kenya, Lebanon, Nigeria, Pakistan, the Philippines are Vietnam will be automatically eligible for an enhanced scholarship of 5000 GBP.

Eligibility Criteria

International students who wish to study abroad at Cardiff University can apply for Cardiff Vice-Chancellor's International Scholarship. In addition to that, they must fulfill the eligibility requirements listed below:

  • Students must confirm Cardiff University as your Firm choice by the UCAS deadline.
  • Meet all offer conditions, including any English Language conditions, by June 30,2023.
  • International students must be self-funded.
  • Must enroll in either UG or PG programs at Cardiff University.
    • Postgraduate Certificate/Diploma awards are not included.

Note: Students who are in receipt of funding from external bodies such as local Government, charities or private organizations are ineligible.


Application Process

No external scholarship application form is required. Students who fulfill the eligibility criteria will be automatically considered for Cardiff Vice-Chancellor's International Scholarship.


Selection Process

Students will be evaluated based on their admission application only. They will be judged on the following documents:

Recipients will be notified by the university about the outcome. They will receive the award in the form of a tuition fee discount.


Grant Details

International students who wish to study in one of the top universities in the UK, Cardiff University can apply for Cardiff Vice-Chancellor's International Scholarship. It applies to UG and PG programs offered by Cardiff University.

Recipients will be awarded an amount of 2000 GBP. Students from the following countries and enrolled in UG and PG courses will be automatically eligible for an enhanced scholarship of 5,000 GBP.

  • Kenya
  • Lebanon
  • Vietnam
  • Nigeria
  • Pakistan
  • the Philippines

Students must accept the offer and meet all the conditions, including any English Language conditions as stated by August 21, 2020, to be eligible for the scholarship.

Terms and Conditions regarding Cardiff Vice-Chancellor's International Scholarship:

  • Students must be able to satisfy all financial requirements as part of the visa application for study in the UK
  • No cash alternative is available
  • An award cannot be used in place of any required deposit.
  • The Scholarship is for full-time students based on the Cardiff campus and starts their studies in September 2023.
  • It cannot be used for any other year of study.
  • Future requests for more funding will not be considered.
  • Chinese nationals are not eligible for PG awards under this scholarship.
