Orebro University Scholarship

Orebro University, Sweden, provides 4-5 graduate students with a scholarship covering full or partial tuition fees. International students newly admitted to a Masters programme at Orebro University may apply for the grant.

  • Orebro University Scholarship award is meant for students of exemplary academic background.
  • Only students from countries outside the EU, EEA and Switzerland are eligible.
    • Who are required to pay overseas tuition fees for studies.
    • Applicant must have chosen Orebro University as his/her first choice.
  • The number of Orebro University scholarships vary each year.
  • Applications for Orebro University Scholarship must be submitted before 10 April 2023.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicant must have applied for a Master Programme through Universityadmissions.se within deadline and having Örebro University as first priority.
  • Applicant must be admitted to a Master Programme at Örebro University. 
  • Applicant must be from a country outside the European Union, European Economic Area and Switzerland.
  • Applicant must fill out the application form that is distributed in conjuction with admissions in April.

Further, to be awarded a scholarship, the applicant must, through the application form, demonstrate suitability and commitment to the chosen field of study and provide documents of academic qualifications.


Application Process

Before you can apply for the scholarship, you must apply to a Masters program at Orebro, through the common admissions portal. This must be done by January 2021.

  • Applicant has to list Orebro University as the number one priority out of the four choices of Swedish universities.
  • Apply to one of Örebro University's Master's Programmes by 16 January 2023.
  • Students will be notified of their acceptance to the university by March 2023.
  • Fill out the application form according to the information sent out by the university for scholarship by 10 April 2023
  • All applications will be reviewed and decisions will be made in the beginning of May, 2023. Awarded students will be contacted via email at this time.
  • The admitted students will get an option to apply for scholarships, which must be filled out and submitted in the same month, along with the required documents.

Supporting documents

To assess your application, you need to add the following mandatory supporting documents to the application:

  • Personal motivation letter (maximum 1 page)
  • CV (maximum 1 page)
  • A minimum of 2 letters of recommendation (maximum 1 page each).

NOTE : All the documents need to be merged in to one single PDF file. Only documents in a PDF-format will be considered. Maximum file size is 4 MB.


Selection Process

All students are individually assessed through the details provided in their applications. The scholarship is given to students demonstrating:

  • Potential in the chosen field of study
  • Academic merit
  • Commitment to studies


Grant Details

The application for scholarship will open in April 2023, after the application for the Masters programs open in January 2023. The scholars will have their tuition fees covered in full or in part, but they will have to arrange to pay living expenses.

The number of awarded scholarships varies every year but commonly covers 4-5 students per academic year. 

The application for scholarship 2022/2023 will open 31 March, 2023.
