QS scholarships

QS awards a range of scholarships worth 7 million USD to international students through its Scholarship Schemes which targets candidates with demonstrated academic excellence and achievements. The plethora of QS scholarships are designed for students keen on pursuing undergraduate, graduate, or Ph.D. programs at a QS partnered university.

Students can apply for QS scholarships of their specific area of interest either through the QS Events App (available on the App Store or Google Play) or by visiting the official website of QS.

  • It is significant for students to obtain admission offers from their chosen university, before applying for QS scholarships.
  • Scholarships are applicable for all major ranking universities in Canada, UK, USA, Australia, Germany, etc.
  • QS Scholarships range from USD 2,000- USD 10,000, depending upon the awarded scholarship program.
  • Selections are primarily based on the applicant’s academic merit and leadership potential.

Before applying for the QS scholarships, applicants must qualify for respective exams to study abroad as it comes under the eligibility criteria for admissions in various institutes.

Eligibility Criteria

In order to get the benefits of the QS scholarships, students will be selected on the basis of the eligibility criteria as defined by the respective universities and QS:

An offer of admission from the concerned university in Australia, UK, or another country, within the scholarship deadline.

  • Apply one year prior to the commencement of the program, they are interested in.
  • Accepted this offer before the announcement of the scholarship recipient names by QS

Apart from these basic requirements stated by QS, applicants are also required to fulfill category-based requirements:

  • Vanderbilt MBA QS Scholarship:
    • Possess an undergraduate degree equivalent to a 4-year, US degree
    • Minimum of a 2-year full-time professional work experience
    • Minimum of 680 GMAT and a TOEFL score of 100/IELTS of 7 (if required)
  • Antai MBA GMAT Scholarship:
    • Minimum GMAT score of 630 for scholarship amount of 20,000 RMB (3,086 USD)
    • Minimum GMAT score of 680 for a 25% full program fee scholarship
    • Minimum 730 GMAT score are awarded a 50% full program fee scholarship
  • Scholarship for ESMT:
    • Minimum of 3 years of international working experience
    • Professional background with interest in innovation technology or sustainability in general management.
    • Must score not less than 650 in GMAT
    • Must be awarded admission for a full-time 12 month MBA program at ESMT.

Note: Students from diverse backgrounds, irrespective of their native countries, are encouraged to apply for these scholarships to study abroad.


Application Process

Students may apply for different QS scholarships via the QS Events mobile phone apps or by visiting the official website of QS.

  • In case the student finds the school of their choice listed on either, they may apply directly through either of these two websites.
  • In case the student is unable to find the school of their choice on either of these two websites, they must apply through the QS Events app along with the login details created at the time of registering for the QS event.

Students may simultaneously apply for multiple scholarships, provided they submit the relevant essay, required for each such scholarship.


Selection Process

The scholarship Selection Committee evaluates all submitted applications and the best is selected based on

  • Academic achievements
  • Quality of essays.

The essay is simply a chance for applicants to show the selection team how talented and competent they are. Candidates should note that only the best essays are chosen as essays are judged by structure, content, word limit (not too long or too short), good grammar, and spellings

Essays are chosen based on the following criteria:

  • 20% structure and format of the essay
  • 80 % relevance, content, and quality of the content

Note: If the scholarship is offered by QS partners such as schools and universities, the final decision is taken exclusively by these organizations after the evaluation of each application.


Grant Details

The shortlisted students are contacted by the QS Scholarships Team, 2-3 weeks after the scholarship deadlines. Due to the large volume of applications, only the applicants who have qualified for the final round are contacted as it is not possible for each application to be responded to in the case of rejection.

Apart from this, each year, QS also offers 5 prepaid credit cards of up to 500 USD to students who complete the QS International Student Survey. The subsequent winners of the QS scholarship scheme are declared on the official QS websites and the interviews of the candidates too may be published on the websites.
