Albert Gordon Avis Bursary- University Of Calgary

The Albert Gordon Avis Bursary is awarded to one student each year who demonstrates academic potential as well as financial requirement. The University of Calgary bursary is designed for continuing students pursuing undergraduate studies in any field.

  • There are no restrictions in terms of nationality and citizenship
  • Albert Gordon Avis Bursary is given to a highly meritorious student of the batch who is successfully promoted to the consequent year.
  • These are given in 2nd, 3rd and final years of the study at the University.

These Bursaries are awarded by the Estate of Albert Gordon Avis of the University of Calgary. It is a highly competitive award and the award value is 1900 CAD (1,08,910 INR).

These Albert Gordon Avis Bursaries are internal and are completely merit based. These awards are given to the meritorious students who are financially weak. These Bursaries do not have any Nationality restrictions as students with all nationalities are eligible. Only one award is given every year which values up to 1900$ and the application deadline is 1st of August every year.

Eligibility Criteria

Since Albert Gordon Avis Bursary is a merit-Based one, there are no such eligibility criteria. However, here are some basic boxes that have to be ticked off:

  • Nationality: No restrictions; international students must be studying on a valid Candian student visa.
  • Level Of Study: Entering Year 2, Year 3, or Year 4 of an undergraduate degree program at University of Calgary
  • Demonstrate academic merit as well as financial requirement to complete the studies.
  • Obtained a cumulative grade of 3.20 in previous year(s) of studies.

Application Process

Once the students have established eligibility criteria for Albert Gordon Avis Bursary, they can proceed to apply for the award as an additional application is to be submitted.

  • Interested Candidates must fill and submit an application to the office of Registrar, University of Calgary.

Selection Process

Once after all the applications are received, the selection process is done based on the

  • Academic merit
  • Financial capability

The final shortlisted student will be awarded the Albert Gordon Avis Bursary for the next academic year.
