University of Northampton International Scholarship

Under the University of Northampton International Scholarship program, the institution aims to offer financial assistance to international students commencing higher education. The scholarship program is designed in the manner that it is open to both undergraduate and postgraduate students of UON.

  • The International Graduate Scholarship offers a 50% fee discount to graduates of the University of Northampton who studied on campus in the UK.
  • This scholarship is available to you if you are wishing to study a Master’s course and have achieved a second class degree from a three or four year Bachelor’s degree or a first class degree from a one-year Top Up programme. 
  • Top Up graduates with a second class degree will be eligible for 30% graduate scholarship.
  • Only full-time students enrolling in an on-campus program are eligible for UON International Scholarships.
  • Selections are based on an applicant’s academic record and academic potential.
  • There is no limit to the number of awards offered to students.

This scholarship award is made in parallel with an application for admission at University of Northampton. This implies that eligible students do not need to submit any form of application.

Eligibility Criteria

Any interested student who wants to be considered for UON International Scholarship must fulfill the eligibility criteria mentioned below:

  • Posses an offer of admission to study a full-time UG or PG-taught programme in
    • Bachelor of Arts
    • Bachelor of Science
    • Bachelor of Engineering
    • Master of Engineering
    • Law
    • Joint Honours
    • Master of Arts
    • Master of Science
    • Master of Business Administration
  • Classified as an international student present in UK on Tier 4 student visa

Note: International students who are also UK and EU nationals who qualify for a maintenance loan from Student Finance England are automatically ineligible for this scholarship program.

International students studying for a course validated by the University at a partner institution are not eligible


Selection Process

The University of Northampton International Scholarships selection process is carried out by a team of faculty members who are also in charge of the admission review. The scholarship program is awarded based

Applicants who are selected for this award will be notified if they have received the scholarship award in their admission offer letter. Where the award is conditional, the student is required to demonstrate that they meet the scholarship conditions outlined in their offer letter.

Note 1: Selected students are required to pay a sum of 5,000 GBP of their first-year tuition fee before being issued with a CAS and the remainder in advance of enrolment. Students who are unable to pay their first-year tuition fees in full before enrolment will be deemed to have forfeited their scholarship and the full tuition will become due.

Note 2: Scholarship award decisions made by the selection team are final and no further query relating to awards or eligibility will be entertained.


Grant Details

Other details about University of Northampton International Scholarships are as follows:

  • A change of program of study to another qualifying program within the university does not affect the continuation of the scholarship award.
    • Scholarship will not cover for extra year(s) of study this change may cause.
  • Recipients of this award will be considered disqualified for the continuation of this award if they do not satisfy the academic requirements to progress and are required to repeat a year (either full-time or part-time) or resit out of residence in the repeat/resit year.
  • The scholarship award only covers the applied academic year only. In the case where a student defers, withdraws or restarts a program, the award offered to him/her will be withdrawn and must be re-applied for.
  • The University of Northampton reserves the right to withdraw an award from any student who is found to have given false, incomplete or discovered to have misled the University about any aspect of their eligibility.
  • The University also reserves the right to withdraw the scholarship award in the case of any outstanding debt to the University.
  • In cases not covered by the above terms and conditions, or where a student claims exceptional circumstances, or disputes, the Chief Operating Officer or his/her nominee will decide on any variations to these terms and conditions, and his/her decision will be final.
