Eligibility Criteria

All international students are eligible to apply for Monash College India - Monash Business School Undergraduate Scholarship. In addition to this, Candidates have to meet the eligibility criteria as defined by the university:

  • Must be commencing an undergraduate program in the Monash Business School, Australia campus.
  • Must have completed the international pathway India program.
  • Must have scored a minimum weighted average mark* of 75.

*Weighted average mark means the average of marks earned in all completed units of a program. It is a popularly used method by the universities to judge the academic performance of a candidate. It may also include the marks achieved in extracurricular activities or project work. The weights are variable and assigned by the university itself. It is calculated by using the credit point for each unit and the year level.


Application Process

The Monash College India - Monash Business School Undergraduate Scholarship is awarded on the basis of merit so no application process is required. The scholarship is for the students who take admission in the undergraduate program at Monash University.

The academic records and performance of a candidate are reviewed which was submitted at the time of application for admission at Monash College. The Monash College is fully administered by the Monash University.


Selection Process

The selection of students for the scholarship is clearly dependent on the academic performance which they display in their application for admission. This scholarship is renewable for a period of 2 years but in order to retain it the students must meet the set criteria.

The criteria for retaining the scholarship for another year is maintaining a minimum 65 weighted average mark while pursuing a bachelor’s degree in the college. The scholarship amount goes up to 20,000 USD if the performance of the candidate is outstanding in the second year as the shortlisted candidates get the amount in installments of 10,000 USD for two years.

Terms and Conditions

The general terms and conditions that you must be aware of while applying for a scholarship which will be mentioned in the scholarship offer are as follows:

  • The acceptance of the scholarship must be in the prescribed manner. If not, the scholarship might be withdrawn or reallocated depending on the situation.
  • Yearly scholarships are awarded in 2 parts i.e. 50% in the first semester and 50% in the second semester.
  • Students holding merit-based scholarships are allowed to hold more than one scholarship. They are eligible for another scholarship or grant for equity, accommodation, music, travel and placement, sport, vacation.

To retain a scholarship:

  • Students must maintain their residency status
  • Must be able to provide verification at any time as requested
  • Must maintain their enrollment status in the undergraduate course at the Monash campus in Australia
  • Adhere to the academic and administrative rules and regulations of Monash College.
  • The academic progress of the students will be reviewed each semester and if the student is found incapable then the scholarship might be terminated. The weighted average mark is the average of all units in a course.

The main purpose of the scholarship is to provide financial support to the students by awarding them 10,000 USD for the first year. If the student continues to perform well, then they also get 10,000 USD more for the second year as financial aid.
