ULMS Indian Subcontinent Excellence Scholarship

The University of Liverpool is giving a generous amount of scholarship to students who wish to pursue graduate courses at University. The ULMS Indian Subcontinent Excellence Scholarship being one of them. It is categorized under International Students – Country specific Awards.

The scholarship is given only for the Master’s subject. MSc programs can include MSc Advanced Aerospace Engineering, MSc Advanced Biological Sciences, and MSc Economics, etc. It is a partial fee waiver – 50%. The scholarship is for the Indian Subcontinent and given to all eligible students across the on-campus MSc Programs. Academic merit is the key to the Scholarship.

Unlike other Scholarships, this award can be combined with any centrally-awarded funding that the student is eligible for. Students may contact the University about the further process of combining scholarship.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates are required to meet the eligibility criteria given below to enjoy the benefits of the scholarship.

  • Applicant must hold or be on track to obtain, at least a high 2:1 (65+%) in their undergraduate degree, including 60+% in modules relevant to the MSc program.
  • Applicants must be from countries like Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Maldives, Pakistan and Sri Lanka only.
  • Indian subcontinent applicants across all Liverpool on-campus MSc programs are eligible .
  • Work experience relevant to the program would be advantageous, as would previously studying at a highly ranked university.

Note 1: Work experience can include a paid internship, shadowing or voluntary positions.

Note 2: All these criteria are for MSc taught program and not MSc research programs.


Application Process

Eligible program applicants will be considered. No separate scholarship application is needed. Documents required at the time of admission into MSc programs at the University of Liverpool are :

  • School or College transcripts/certificates
  • University transcripts and certified translation if applicable
  • Degree certificates
  • Evidence of English Language proficiency
  • Personal Statement
  • Two references

The application process might require an interview even if it is not otherwise mentioned to evaluate some candidates personally. A great positive attitude and good knowledge of the subject studied is generally advised to possess while giving the interview.

Note: Scanned copies are allowed but students have to bring original documents at the time of admission.


Selection Process

Early program applications are advised as scholarships will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

The selection committee will review the program application along with documents required to submit for the scholarship. Selected candidates will be informed through email and scholarship funds will be allocated to them.


Grant Details

Applicants are advised to apply at the earliest if they want to be considered for the scholarship. The course eligible is all the MSc Programmes. Though eligibility is 2:1 (65+%), it does not guarantee admission, applicants have to score really high.

Scholarships can be extremely competitive and scoring one is a great achievement in itself so applicants are advised to write the personal statements effectively.

ULMS Indian Subcontinent Excellence Scholarship offers wavier of 50% of the total fees and it will not include the accommodation charges.
