As per a survey conducted by INTO University Partnerships, Engineering is the most preferred subject by Indian students at 18% which is followed by Computer Science at 12% and Business Studies at 11%. Within Engineering, 24% were found to be more inclined towards advanced technology, such as Robotics and Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Around 1200 Indian students were part of this survey held by INTO University Partnerships. Furthermore, 78% students stated that the pandemic had an impact on their career choices which resulted in rising interest in advanced technologies, health-related studies and climate change.
Students also accentuated the fact that the key reason to study abroad is due to the quality of education provided there and the skills they attain thereafter followed by the better job prospects offered by the institutions there. US (31%), Canada (23%) and UK (17%) comprise the top notched study abroad destinations for Indian students.
As per the survey, a considerable portion of Indian students also look up to institutions in Asia. Due to closure of borders amidst pandemic, Australia and New Zealand faced a drop in student interest which is believed to revive after the reopening of the same.

It was also noticed that 35% of the students placed job opportunities as the main aspect while choosing a country whereas 32% students highlighted that they would pick a country having proficiency in the field they want to pursue.
