New Delhi: The British Council has announced its third cohort for British Council Scholarships for Women in STEM on February 3, 2023. It has announced 26 scholarships for women scholars in STEM from India and South-Asian Countries.
The deadlines for applying to the scholarships will be decided by the respective universities, but can be expected to be between March and May 2023. Women with dependents can also apply for the scholarship for extra support. Interested and eligible candidates should visit
The scholarships by British Council will be awarded through 6 universities in UK:
- Coventry University
- University of Bath
- University of Manchester
- University of Southampton
- Imperial College London and
- University of Edinburgh
Scholars working in STEM fields will be awarded these scholarships only on merit basis with no preferential country cap.

The aim of the scholarships is to enhance and help women working in STEM to promote research and innovation in their country through their expertise.
Selected women scholars from India will be able to obtain a master’s degree or an Early Academic Fellowship at a UK university, and the scholarship will cover tuition fees, stipend, travel costs, visa, health coverage fees, special support for mothers and English language support.
As part of the scholarship program, candidates who are applying in courses like Computer Science, Data Science, Biotechnology, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Medicine, Public Health, Machine Learning, Robotics, Information Technology, Renewable Energy and Energy Management in the 21 universities in UK, will be able to apply for a masters course as well as early academic fellowship.
