My Msc program of interest was on energy sector (oil & Gas) so, my choice of selection of University was mainly focused on location and the quality standards of the education and the institution.
Course Curriculum
As my course was industry related, the curriculum was well designed and much updated to the practical world of industrial practice. The assignments and projects gave an near exposure to the industry practice.
Exams
My course was a master's degree, so the very basic requirement is that the candidate must have successfully completed a bachelor's degree to meet the minimum UK band scores. Thereafter the candidate must have a standardized test IELTS from the British Council with a minimum overall band score of 6.5.
Placement
Post-study placement mainly depends on the performance and luck also plays a major role. It is difficult to keep up when there is an industrial downturn.
Internship
No, I didn't get an internship.
Events
The campus life which I can never forget, the beautiful structures, and the campus environment are always pleasing to the eye. Good time to spend on campus after class. Where all the facilities are included within the campus, including Coffee Cafe, the famous Sir Duncan Rice Library, Food Hub, Student Life, etc. There are university student societies for each program, student societies for education, travel, visits, etc. The fresher's party organized by the university is a must-visit, where you can socialize with many people. You don't need to think about the internet facility, it is always available and always fast. There is a separate university sports centre, Aberdeen Sports Village (ASV), you get a discount for student membership.
Fees
21,000 GBP is the program fee.
Scholarship
No, I did not get any scholarship for my studies. I recommend searching and applying if there is one.
Faculty
The faculty is very approachable and helpful. They treat every student equally and give equal importance to all. faculty are kind in nature and support students if someone is stuck with their understanding of the subject. The professor I cannot forget is Dr. Antonios Karadimos who supported me as my guide during my thesis and also as a mentor, who always advised me through the course.
Hostel
This was student housing outside the university campus, as on-campus housing was expensive. Infrastructure was up to the mark, nice and kind staff too. The cost was 80 GBP per week
