Education in Continuing a proud tradition - Robert Gordon University

We all know that the UK is the hub for education and provide world-class facilities. Aberdeen, where my university is situated, hub for oil and gas industries. As I was applying for oil and gas engineering, I thought it will help me get some projects, site visits and also a job. They provide one year course which is again an advantage in terms of tuition fees and living costs.

Course Curriculum :

During this time it is very difficult to give opinions on the course curriculum and academics. Still, I can see it is all up to date. You can have a virtual field visit because of covid. COURSEWORK is essential and carries marks more than the final exam sometimes. Plagiarism is the best thing I have experienced here. For a normal assignment also have to submit through plagiarism. This is inspiring to work on your own and self-study.

Exams :

IELTS: 6.5 overall, not less than 5.5 in each component. 2:2 undergraduate honors degree or equivalent. IELTS is not required for students who scored more than 65% in English during 10th and 12th. (Not permanent maybe) My score: is IELTS 7.5. B.E in chemical engineering with 8.45 CGPA

Internship :

No, not yet.

Fees :

17700 pound without scholarship.

Scholarship :

RGU have some scholarship schemes for international students. But you have to look for it one intake earlier. If you miss that, still have a chance of getting 2000 pounds. For that scholarship one need to apply during application process.

Faculty :

I don't have an idea for the ratio. But they are very helpful. We have a forum where we can post our questions and get answers from the professors. You can mail them too and all of them will be ready to help for any type of issue. Sometimes you can have one on one session too.

Hostel :

I am staying in a studio flat sharing with my friend. Accommodation facilities depend upon the type of room. You can have all utensils, wifi facilities, a central gas heater, etc. The average cost of room: 250-300 per person excluding living cost.
