The factors that drove me to choose the University of Bristol was the contents of my course. they all were of my interest. the worldwide ranking of the university was also a contributing factor. In addition the city of the university seemed extremely lively and welcoming. Bristol is green and a perfect student university. The university is also enriched with history and it is a privilege to study here.
Course Curriculum
The course curriculum is quite challenging and rewarding at the same time. It includes theoretical knowledge and practical application. most subjects are tested through projects rather than exams. There is a lot of work on various programming languages and there is a lot of free material if you want to learn some skill on your own.
Exams
the requirement for my course was at least a 2:1 in the bachelor degree and a 7.5 overall and in each section of the IELTS. I had a 1st in my bachelor degree and an 8 overall in the IELTS. Further, it was important to have an Economics Background and/or a mathematical background.
Placement
the opportunites are quite high. the more initiatives one takes, the more opportunities come forward. the career guidance is very strong. and there are many research opportunities
Events
The infrastructure at the University of Bristol is a mix of traditional and modern. while the buildings look old and historic, the insides are extremely high-tech. the libraries are beautiful and a heaven for book lovers. there is a library for every subject in the world and on topics that may interest students. the Wills Memorial Building- great hall and library is the highlight of the University. they host all major events and the library survived the world war. There is a lot of history but with a modern twist. the bloomberg terminal is an interesting place to go to.
Scholarship
I did not receive a scholarship, however the University of Bristol has a Think Big Scholarship program.
Faculty
The faculty is one of the most prestigious. They are from around the world and represent various nationalities. they are extremely intelligent and know how to articulate their knowledge creatively. They publish papers on current finance and economics frequently and work with the students to help them submit work of similar quality.
