My family was planning to shift to UK after my graduation. I knew it was a great opportunity as UK has many prestigious universities for MBA. While searching online, I was blown by seeing the infrastructure, curriculum and the record of alumni placements. I Registered and created my application on the UCAS website, filled the form asking for my personal information, included previous educational qualification, added in financial statements. The form costed around $100.

Course Curriculum

9

MBA is offered on a full-time basis for a duration of 16 months. It builds a professional experience and provide an advanced qualitative and quantitative understanding of organizations. The program consisted of seven core modules (105 credits), 45 credits worth of optional modules, and a business research project (60 credits). Only after gaining these credits, I was allowed to take-up an internship.

Faculty

9

Professors have always been the strongest pillar, as I used to rely on them when having any doubts or having personal query. They were friendly as well as very well qualified in their field. They even guided me to make my portfolio strong and prepared me for the interview session.

Placement

9

Before taking any part-time job, I was asked to check my tier 4 visa status that allowed me to work in the UK. Working for too many hours can make me feel tired and stressed, which will directly affect your studies. That’s why many my university recommended me to work for a maximum of 15 hours per week. I was paid $6000 that gave me encouragement to work harder and gain experience.

Accommodation

Off Campus
9

Though my family shifted to UK but still I wanted to be independent and experience a campus life. I decided to live in the university campus, it provided agreeable accommodation in a friendly environment at affordable prices. The average rent around $500 per month. I shared an apartment with my classmates that was fully furnished with all the basic amenities such as electricity, central heating and unlimited internet access included in the rent.

Exams

I was always good in academics, in 12th, I scored 92% and while doing B.B.A my percentage was 84%. Additional to this, I gave IELTS exam that proved my proficiency in English language by scoring 7.2 and appeared for GMAT exam with 650 marks. After completing all these formalities, I was issued a provisional admission letter by the University College London on receipt of a completed application. Now the next step was to submit the provisional admission call letter to get the immigration permit.

Events

9

Professional seminars, placement fairs and exhibitions helped me to meet new people and make several contacts. Cultural events, alumini meets and Halloween parties are one of the main highlights of the University.

Fees

I paid tuition fee approximately $56500 for 16 months. My other expenses costed was estimated around $4000. Room and food expenses totalled-up approximately $900 per month. But all these expenses were worth spending as I gained a lifetime experience.

Scholarship

I didn’t receive the scholarship but I was able to get the financial aid that helped me in paying some of my fees and reduced some me pressure on my parents. One of my friend got the scholarship worth $1200 that gave him several benefits.
