Coventry University was the first university to start a degree in cyber security in UK I would say it's amazing particularly for my field. It has one of the finest libraries in the country as well as professors are extremely talented and friendly. After studying for month I can bet that they have one of the best curriculum as well as teach methods to shape your future.
Course Curriculum :
Absolutely outstanding. I had heard a lot about the curriculum Coventry University runs with for my course but getting into it I can say it has one of the best curriculum which goes from basic to advance and is utterly related to the field as course gets modified every year according to Industry standard. The current course designed in such a way that students can get the best knowledge out there and can keep them updated with the best information.
Exams :
IELTS: 6:00+ ( not less than 5.5 in any component), Percentage in last program/school: 65%+ It has different for every field and for every country it's advisable to look on their website for accurate information as it might change.
Placement :
As Coventry University is famous for Cyber security it has good after aspects. Students graduating from coventry University are definitely going to get upper edge over other applicants.
Internship :
As this us my first year I am looking for internship and have applied for few but as they are still in progress I would chose not to speak about them.
Fees :
As it keeps increasing tution fee currently for my course is £17700 per year which accumulates upto 53100£ for 3 years. Apparently fees for other courses are low.
Scholarship :
I have applied for one and I think I might get it as I qualify for it. If I do it's scholarship of 2000£. The criteria for this was to have more than 65% in last program you attended.
Faculty :
As far as I know we have 50 students in one batch and about professor they are very friendly and humble and they won't mind if you keep asking repeated doubts. Talking about impact Mr Ian Cornelius, Mr Terry richards and Mr Xiang Fei are my tutors. Talking about their approach they have their own methods of teaching but each one have great knowledge about subjects they are leading.
Campus Life :
They organize a ton of events for my field and even they have related societies of my field where students from every year meet and share knowledge and can learn from their experiences. For cyber security they organize ctfs and have their own site where they upload ctfs everyday which students can solve and learn from that. In general they have freshers week for freshers where they organize different kind of events and also help students get discount coupons.
Hostel :
Accomodation is expensive near the uni but as the distance from university increases accomodation get's cheaper. Unite students queens park house and raglan house is cheap option here for students looking to stay in student accomodation.
