Master of Fine Arts [M.F.A.] (Creative Writing)
£13,000/Yr
There are three distinct routes to this course. Each route offers focused but flexible structures to fulfil a range of motivations:
Publication/book route - produce a full-length work (a novel, poetry collection, script or biography) for publication, performance or dissemination. The critical and/or reflective commentary will focus on this, whilst the creative submission can be in any form or genre.
Community/heritage route - produce a book-length work, performance or account, exploring an outreach project with a partner in health, arts, music or heritage. The commentary may focus on the development and implications of this project, and could incorporate some qualitative and or quantitative data or case studies, where appropriate.
Critical/theoretical route - produce a book-length work in any form (a novel, poetry or a script). The project has a strong theoretical underpinning, in which the critical or reflective commentary explores and analyses a movement, literary theory or other critical idea. The creative work will perform a practice-based exploration of the same. This is intended for students considering moving onto a PhD, but not exclusively.
