- Students undertaking English and Film Studies at Queen’s explore literature, language, and cinema in the widest possible sense.
- From the earliest writings in Anglo-Saxon to contemporary Irish, British, and ‘global’ literature; from the origins of European cinema, via the French New Wave, to contemporary Hollywood and World Cinema, students study English and Film in their historical, cultural ideological circumstances and material manifestations.
- And modules on adaptation, visual culture, and scriptwriting in both English and Film evidence the cross-pollination of these important cultural forms
Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
- BBB including A-level English
- For applicants who have not studied A-level English then AS-level English (grade A) would be acceptable in lieu of A-level English.
- A minimum of a 2:2 Honours Degree provided any subject requirement
Indian students eligibility:
Applicants must have the following qualifications to be eligible for direct admission:
- Three A levels
- Between 30 and 36 points in the International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB).
- The Standard Indian XII (10+2) examinations from CBSE, CISCE or State Boards of Higher Secondary Education are acceptable for admission to their Bachelor's degree programmes.
An average mark of 70 - 85% or higher (best of 5 academic subjects) in the Standard Indian XII Higher Secondary School certificates awarded by the central boards (CBSE, CISCE) or a state board, or equivalent, with 75% or higher where subject requirements are stipulated (comparable with Grade B at A-Level).
Applicants will normally need to demonstrate a level of English equivalent to 6.5 IELTS or 90 TOEFL IBT (Internet-based test). However, some degree programmes have higher or lower requirements.
