A degree in Computer and Information Technology gives you a grounding in a broad range of information technology subjects as well as the skills to manage and administrate complex digital infrastructure.
- The course develops applied computing, interpersonal, communication and IT skills and readies graduates to develop, select, deliver, manage and maintain cutting-edge IT infrastructures and advanced IT systems. It is ideal for students who are interested in IT and are keen to learn programming, web development, database design and human-computer interaction, it also requires team working skills and nuanced interpersonal interaction.
- This is further enhanced by a placement year, where students will put into practice the skills they have acquired. In fact, employer experience is embedded into every aspect of Computer and Information Technology at Queen’s. This allows students to engage and learn from prospective employers from day one, vastly improving graduate employability rates.
Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
- BBB including Mathematics, Computing or Software Systems Development plus GCSE Mathematics grade C/4
OR
ABB including Biology, Chemistry, Digital Technology, ICT (including Single Award Applied ICT), Physics, Technology, and Design or Double Award Applied ICT plus GCSE Mathematics grade C/4
OR
AAB plus GCSE Mathematics grade C/4. - A minimum of a 2:2 Honours Degree provided any subject requirement
Indian students eligibility:
Applicants must have the following qualifications to be eligible for direct admission:
- Three A levels
- Between 30 and 36 points in the International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB).
- The Standard Indian XII (10+2) examinations from CBSE, CISCE or State Boards of Higher Secondary Education are acceptable for admission to their Bachelor's degree programmes.
An average mark of 70 - 85% or higher (best of 5 academic subjects) in the Standard Indian XII Higher Secondary School certificates awarded by the central boards (CBSE, CISCE) or a state board, or equivalent, with 75% or higher where subject requirements are stipulated (comparable with Grade B at A-Level).
Applicants will normally need to demonstrate a level of English equivalent to 6.5 IELTS or 90 TOEFL IBT (Internet-based test). However, some degree programmes have higher or lower requirements.
