At Brighton you will take a progressive approach to the subject: throughout the course you will develop a critical understanding of the unequal distribution of power and resources, and of democracy, participation and representation. You will learn about social movements, human rights, regimes and revolts that are so characteristic of modern society.

You have the chance to undertake a voluntary work placement in the local community as part of your course, and there is an international exchange programme should you want to spend part of your degree abroad.
