Bachelor of Science in Games Technology at the University of The West of England is a 4 years program.
It is an on-campus, honours program offered on a full-time basis.
The program gives students a foundation in problem-solving, programming (using C++), and software design for the entertainment industry.
Students will learn about artificial intelligence, 3D environments, virtual reality (VR), and effective software design for games.
Students gain an understanding of the history and theories around play, games and user engagement and also gain valuable real-world experience and a professional portfolio through placements that prepare them for a career in the gaming industry.
Learning takes through a mix of face-to-face lectures and tutorials, virtual learning environments, practical work, and independent project work.
Students have to attend regular 'Games Night' social events and challenge their peers and lecturers, either on the large screens in our Games Studio or at special locations off-site.
The graduates work across AAA developers, including Rockstar North, Frontier Developments and Naughty Dog, and local developers such as Opposable Games and Mobile Pie.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Academic Eligibility:

UCAS Tariff points: 72
GCSE: Grade C/4 in English Literature or Language and Mathematics, or equivalent.

Indian Student Eligibility:

Indian students are eligible to apply if they complete the following eligibility criteria:

Students should have a Higher Secondary School Certificate/Indian School Certificate (Standard XII) from boards such as CBSE/CISCE/WBCHSEB with 65% including grade C in at least five subjects.
Students with lower grades may be considered for entry onto a foundation degree.
Students should hold a 70% score in the English Language in Higher Secondary School Certificate/Indian School Certificate - Standard XII from CBSE/CISCE/WBCHSEB.

Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/PTE or any equivalent test to get admission to this program.
