- Master of Law in International Banking and Finance Law at the University of The West of England is a 1-year program.
- It is an on-campus program offered on both a full-time and a part-time basis.
- The full-time course takes one year, with approximately six to nine contact hours a week. However, as independent study is fundamental to the course, the total study time should be around 36 hours a week.
- There are two intakes in September and January for the program.
- Pursuing an LLM allows students to focus in on a particular area of law by delving deep into the subject and undertaking independent research and learning.
- The core modules of the program are:
- Foundations for Research
- Research Methods
- International Banking and Finance Law
- The LLM in International Banking and Finance Law consists of nine modules in total, including a dissertation of up to 15,000 words.
- The course involves both extensive independent research and discussion in the context of workshops, designed to encourage the development of student’s critical, analytical and reflective skills.
- Taught modules on the LLM International Banking and Finance Law course are assessed through a combination of written coursework assignments and oral presentations.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
- Students should complete one of the following:
- an honours degree of 2:2 or above in Law from a recognized university.
- Or, an honours degree of 2:2 or above plus a Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL) or the Common Professional Examination (CPE).
- Or, an honours degree of 2:2 or above in a related subject (such as business, politics, or international relations) and/or relevant experience.
- Applicants who do not meet the above requirements, but have relevant work experience and/or can demonstrate appropriate subject knowledge are still encouraged to apply, however they might be invited to an interview to assess suitability for the course.
Indian Students Eligibility:
Indian students are eligible to apply if they meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Students have to complete a 4-year undergraduate degree in a relevant field from a recognized institution.
- Students must complete a Higher Secondary School Certificate/Indian School Certificate – Standard XII from CBSE/CISCE/WBCHSEB: English Language with 70%. This qualification must have been completed within the last three years.
Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test to get admission to this program.
