- Master of Research in Applied Science at the University of The West of England is a 1-year program.
- It is an on-campus program offered on both a full-time and a part-time basis.
- This MRes is either one year full-time or two years part-time and runs from September to September.
- As this is a research degree, students will be spend on independent study, but they will have regular contact with their supervisor.
- This course enables students to deepen their knowledge in an area of interest alongside our world-class research community.
- After developing a solid grounding in academic research practice, students will graduate in an MRes in Applied Sciences with one of the following specialties:
- Biological Science
- Biomedical Science
- Bio-Sensing Technology
- Biomedical Engineering
- Physiology
- Science Communication
- Forensic Science
- Students will learn through a combination of lectures, workshops, seminars, presentations, supervised and independent study.
- The course starts with a short period of upfront learning at UWE Bristol. This will give students the chance to learn key research concepts and meet their teachers, peers, and the research community.
- Students will be assessed through coursework, a portfolio, and a written dissertation.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
- An applicant will be expected to have a minimum of a 2:1 in a relevant first degree or equivalent from a recognized university.
- Students without the conventional entrance requirements are also eligible but only those who can demonstrate appropriate evidence of research and professional experience.
Indian Students Eligibility:
Indian students are eligible to apply if they meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Students have to complete a 4-year undergraduate degree in a relevant field from a recognized institution.
- Students must complete a Higher Secondary School Certificate/Indian School Certificate – Standard XII from CBSE/CISCE/WBCHSEB: English Language with 70%. This qualification must have been completed within the last three years.
Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test to get admission to this program.

- Statement of marks - The marks statement provided by the education board.
- Letter of Recommendation - This shows who recommended the student to pursue the degree.
- Personal Statement - This is an essay or any written statement written by the student while applying in a minimum of 250 words.
- English Language Requirement - This shows the test score of English Proficiency Exams such as IELTS, TOEFL, PTE, etc.
