- Through lectures, practical workshops, case discussions, and theoretical studies, the course will introduce you to a range of approaches to drama therapy. This will reflect on their own practice in group discussions, and be supported by an extensive program of tutorials and supervisions.
- Their studies will focus on intercultural practice, attachment/mother-infant observation, and the understanding of how past relationships manifest in current client difficulties and how they can be worked with through the drama therapeutic relationship. They will also work with music therapists in lectures and performance work, such as Playback Theatre.
- The experiential teaching will focus on your own dramatic autobiographical process, drama therapy theory, links between theory and practice, and bi-weekly experiential drama therapy groups. In these, they will reflect upon your clinical experiences and the process of becoming a drama therapist.
- They will take part in clinical placements in two to three fields, under the supervision of qualified drama therapists. Their placements could be in community settings, schools, hospitals, or hospices, giving you valuable experience of working in a multidisciplinary team and great preparation for employment.
- Supported by our team of practicing and research-active drama therapists, you will have access to the latest and most effective drama therapy approaches with both adults and children, as well as to the best advice for their future career.
- There are 15 places available on this training course. These will be filled in order of acceptance after which, if their application is successful, they will be offered a place on a waiting list.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
- Students will need a secondary school or high school graduation certificate with a minimum of 12 years of study.
- Students must have transcripts from their senior high school along with their graduation diploma or certificate, and any graduation exam results.
- If English is not the students’ first language then they must provide proof of English competency.
