- This course, which is accredited by the Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS), gives them a thorough grounding in the theory and practice used by Biomedical Scientists to diagnose and treat diseases but also prepares them for a career in a wide range of biomedical fields. In this course, they will learn about the human body at the molecular, cellular, organ, and systems levels in health and disease.
- In this degree they will learn key biological concepts that are fundamental to understanding, investigating, and treating human disease.
- Students will begin by studying general biology, human anatomy and physiology, microbiology, and cellular and molecular biology, which will give you a solid foundation of knowledge on which to build.
- They will go on to develop an understanding of the diagnostic techniques used in modern professional practice and learn about the biomedical disciplines, which include hematology and transfusion science, clinical biochemistry, cellular pathology, medical genetics, medical microbiology, and clinical immunology.
- In their final year, students will integrate and deepen their knowledge as they learn about human pathology and current advances in biomedical research, as students become independent learners.
- Also in their final year, with individual support from a supervisor, they will have the opportunity to carry out a research project of their own which may be laboratory- or literature-based research.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
- Students will need a secondary school or high school graduation certificate with a minimum of 12 years of study.
- Students must have transcripts from their senior high school along with their graduation diploma or certificate, and any graduation exam results.
- If English is not the students’ first language then they must provide proof of English competency.
