Master of Science in Data-Intensive Physics at Cardiff University is a 1-year program.
It is an on-campus program offered on a full-time basis.
The program has been designed to provide students with the skills and knowledge needed for a career in a range of areas including academic research in physics as well as technical, development, and engineering positions in related scientific fields.
The course is delivered by members of the Data Innovation Research Institute.
A key component of the course is a 3-month summer project, which will be based either in the School of Physics and Astronomy or with one or more of the external partners.
Students will join a well-established and growing cohort of MSc students and be based in a dedicated teaching facility that encourages a research group community atmosphere that has been praised by students and external examiners.
As a successful graduate of this course, students will be placed to take advantage of the growing employment opportunities being generated by the demands of Big Data.
The program has a two-stage (120 credits taught, 60 credits research project) postgraduate taught program delivered over 3 terms (autumn, spring, and summer) for a total of 180 credits.
Students will be taught through a combination of lectures, tutorials, seminars, and practical computer sessions.
There will be a flexible number of external projects each year for the summer research project module, which may be carried out in the School with external supervision, or involve some work at a collaborating institute.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Academic Eligibility:

Applicants will possess a BSc in Physics (2:1 minimum) or other subjects such as a physical science/mathematics degree (2:1 minimum).
Students have a 2:2 bachelor’s degree in the above subjects, a related physical science, mathematics, computer science, astrophysics, astronomy, engineering, or relevant industrial experience is also consider with a formal interview.
Students must be qualified in IELTS, TOEFL, and PTE to get admission in this program.

Indian Student Eligibility:

Students will need successful completion of a relevant bachelor's degree from a recognized institution, with grades of approximately 55%-60% to qualify for the postgraduate courses.
Some schools will also require the successful completion of a relevant master's program from a recognized institution.
The Indian Standard XII English qualification from the following examination boards are accepted with a minimum score of 70%:
