Biomedical science is the science that underpins medicine and medical research.Ê Our Biomedical Sciences degree takes a broad approach which giving you the option to study a wide range of subjects including human physiology; human anatomy; disease processes and their treatment; biochemistry; genetics and microbiology. The curriculum is informed by the extensive range of biomedical research undertaken within the School of Biosciences and at the University Hospital of Wales, enabling you to receive training in contemporary topics such as cancer biology, stem cells, tissue engineering, gene therapy and neurodegenerative diseases.
This course will enable you increase your scientific understanding, as well as developing both your academic skills (critical appraisal, evaluation and analysis of data) and practical, presentation and written skills.Ê Ultimately, we aim to produce graduates who are employable, well-informed, versatile and enthusiastic ambassadors for science.
The knowledge and skills that you develop during th MBiomed course will make you employable in a broad range of careers within biomedical science including research, healthcare, publishing and teaching. The skills acquired on the course are also an excellent grounding for many other career paths outside of science. Alternatively you may wish to further your studies with a higher degree.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Requirements:
- 36-34 overall or 666 in 3 HL subjects with grade 6 in HL biology or chemistry
- Official transcripts of all the previous school, college or universities attended
English Language Requirements:
- IELTS: 6.5 overall minimum with 5.5 in each subskill
- TOEFL IBT: minimum 90 overall with 17 in writing, 17 in listening, 18 in reading, 20 in speaking
- PTE Academic: 62 minimum overall with 59 in all communicative skills
Indian Student Specific Requirements:
- Average of 78-81% in top 4 subjects (not including physical education) in Senior Secondary Examination (Std XII)
