With multiple opportunities to invent and create your own style of live theatre, this Theatre and Professional Practice (Hons) at Coventry University is designed to help equip you with the knowledge and experience used within the theatre industry.
This program is available in a 3-year full-time and 4-year part-time program.
Students gain hands-on experience of a variety of different and exciting approaches to making and performing live theatre Ð from scripted, collaboratively devised work and improvisational approaches to performance, to mask work and puppetry, acrobatics and stilt work, physical theatre and intermedia performance. You’ll even is encouraged to create a professional scale work as a final project.

The ÔBusiness MattersÕ module in particular is designed to encourage you to develop an appreciation of the nature of professionalism in the context of the performing arts industry and to recognise the relationship between professional arts practice, critical reflection and personal planning. We will cover the career structures relevant for your field, including companies, free-lance, small businesses and sole trader, and the commercial structures within which you may eventually work. We will also look at the possible market places for different skills and creations, which includes areas such as self-promotion, marketing and publicity.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
- Students must achieve an overall score of 60% minimum in the standard XII examination.
- Students also have 65% in Maths and 65% in one from subjects such as Physics/ Chemistry/ Electronics/ Engineering/ Further Mathematics/ Computer Science/ Computing/ Design Tech.
Indian Student Eligibility:
Indian students are eligible to apply if they complete one of the following eligibility criteria:
- Students must achieve 60% overall achieved in a 3 or 4 years Engineering or Technology Diploma.
- Students must achieve an overall score of 60% minimum in the Standard XII examination with a minimum of 65% in the key relevant subject; i.e. Biology, Chemistry, Physics.
- 60% in Standard XII English language from certain examination boards only (Central boards, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, and Uttarakhand).
Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/PTE or any equivalent test to get admission to this program.
