Why become a mental health nurse?
Your main skill as a mental health nurse is your ability to connect to other people and to help them to improve their overall wellbeing. The therapeutic relationships that you make with the people you support, and their families and friends are critical to helping people manage their experience of mental ill health and the stigma which can accompany it. Choosing to become a mental health nurse is rewarding - it is also complex and challenging. As a career, mental health nursing is meaningful, interesting, flexible and varied and at its heart, it is about supporting people experiencing mental distress to recover and live the best lives possible.
We are seeking students who can demonstrate a passion for helping others, demonstrate empathy, warmth and care coupled with the ability to collaborate within multi-disciplinary teams and advocate on behalf of clients and their families / carers in a highly sensitive area of healthcare. Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Requirements:
- Students applying to this programme must be a UK registered nurse with sufficient credits to meet the entry criteria of 300 credits
English Language Requirements:
- IELTS: 6.0 minimum with 5.5 in each section
- PET: 59 minimum with 59 in all sections
- TOEFL IBT: minimum 72 with at least 17 in listening and writing, 20 in speaking and 18 in reading
Indian Student Specific Requirements:
- Minimum 55% in high school examination
