- In the first year, students take compulsory modules in economics, applied economics, mathematics, and statistics, as well as optional modules.
- In your second year, principles of model-building, problem-solving and quantitative techniques are emphasised, and students will take compulsory core modules in microeconomics, macroeconomics, and econometrics.
- In the final year, students can choose from a wide range of optional modules. Students are required to choose at least one module with an assessed research project component, using the tools and knowledge they’ve developed. Most final-year modules introduce students to research papers and current research, including that of staff members and require students to independently consider how to combine all that they have learnt across the degree to different areas of economics. Students can also elect to do a dissertation.
- Upon successful completion of 360 credits, students will be awarded a BSc (Econ) (Hons) in Economics.
