Course Description

  2. Candidates can submit filled application form in person or by post by submitting the DD of Rs. 400/- for general category candidates and Rs. 100/- for SC/ST category candidates for admission in the UG and PG courses along with all the attested copies of the documents submitted at

    Candidates have to submit photo copies of all the documents attested by Gazetted Officer along with the filled application form.

    Enclosures:

    1. S.S.L.C marks card (for proof of Date of Birth).
    2. Marks Card of II-PUC or equivalent examination.
    3. Prescribed certificates in the case of candidates claiming reservation under different categories i.e., category & income certificate issued by the Tahasildar of Karnataka only.
    4. Domicile Certificate for 10 years in Karnataka (Issued by the Tahasildar of Karnataka) or Study Certificate of seven years in Karnataka.
    5. Relevant Certificates for those who are claiming exemption for seven years study in Karnataka.
    6. Candidate studied other than Karnataka PUC Board, CBSE Board and ICSC Board should submit the Eligibility Certificate obtained from the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore without fail.
    7. Attested photocopy of transfer certificate.
    8. Physically fitness certificate.
    9. Study certificate for having studied in Rural/Kannada medium.

    Enclosures for MDS:

    1. BDS pass/degree certificate issued by the university.
    2. Marks card of all university examination (I to IV BDS year course).
    3. Attempt certificate issued by university.
    4. Certificate regarding the recognition of dental college by dental council of India.
    5. Completion of paid rotator internship certificate.
    6. Registration by any state dental council
    7. Proof of SC/ST category.

Eligibility Criteria

  1. A candidate for admission to the MDS course (Master of Dental Surgery) must have a. recognized degree of BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) awarded by an Indian University in respect of recognized Dental College under Section 10(2) of the Dentists Act, 1948 or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Dental Council of India and should have obtained permanent registration with the State Dental Council. Candidates not possessing a recognized Dental qualification for the above purpose should secure the prior approval of his qualifications by the Dental Council of India before he can be admitted to the MDS Course of any University in India.

  3. Candidates who possess PG Diploma recognized by the DCI with the duration of 2 years (proposed) in particular specialty is eligible for admission in MDS in the same specialty and the duration will be 2 years. The syllabus of two years programmed will be as per the concerned University guidelines. 
  4. Provided that in the case of a foreign national, the Dental Council of India may, on payment of the prescribed fee for registration, grant temporary registration for the duration of the postgraduate training restricted to the dental college/institution to which he is admitted for the time being exclusively for postgraduate studies; Provided that further temporary registration to such foreign national shall be subject to the condition that such person is duly registered as dental practitioner in his own country from which he has obtained his basic dental qualification and that his degree is recognized by the corresponding dental council or concerned authority.

Admission Guidelines

Students for MDS Course shall be admitted based on performance at the competitive examinations held by Central government/State government/Universities or Institutions.
