About UPUMS
Uttar Pradesh University of Medical Sciences (UPUMS), popular with the name U.P. Rural Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, is a state medical university established in 2016 in Saifai by the Government of Uttar Pradesh. The university is approved by the Medical Council of India (MCI), Dental Council of India (DCI), Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) and University Grant Commission (UGC). The university is accredited with NAAC, IQAC, and NABL and affiliated with Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University, Kanpur.
UPUMS has five major faculties namely, medical, dental, paramedical sciences, nursing, and pharmacy. MBBS, BSc Nursing, MD, MS, MDS, MCh, BPT, BRIT and BOT are some of the major courses offered at the university. The university also offers Diploma programs in Nursing and Paramedical streams that are affiliated with the State Medical Faculty, Lucknow. For admission to the MBBS at UPUMS, candidates need to have a valid score in NEET UG. The university offers 200 seats annually for the MBBS program, 15% of which are reserved under the All India Quota and the remaining under the State Quota. Candidates must qualify for NEET PG and NEET MDS for admission to MD/MS and MDS, respectively, at UPUMS. Admission to B.Sc (Nursing), B.Sc (Paramedical), BPT, and BOT are based on the Combined Paramedical, Pharmacy, and Nursing Entrance Test (CPNET) conducted by UPUMS. Students are offered admission to MCh based on scores obtained in NEET SS. Candidates clearing the NEET/CPNET examination must undergo UP State-level counselling conducted by DMET for admission to the university.

UPUMS Admission 2024
UPUMS Admission 2024 for UG courses such as MBBS is based on NEET UG, while admission to BSc Nursing, BPharm, BMLT, BRIT, BPT, and BOT is based on CPNET. For admission to postgraduate courses such as MD/MS and MDS, an individual needs to clear NEET PG and NEET MDS, respectively. Candidates need to qualify for the NEET SS exam for admission to MCh. Individuals need to pass an entrance test conducted by UPUMS for admission into MMLT, MPT, and MSc.
After clearing the exam, candidates must register for the counseling process. Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University is the authorized body to conduct counseling for nursing, pharmacy, and paramedical courses. On the other hand, students who clear NEET have to appear for state-level counselling conducted by DMET.

UPUMS Scholarship is provided to their students so that they can complete their education without any financial problems. UPUMS provides fully developed tertiary care (1050-bed hospital) with a 150-bed trauma and burn centre. The university also provides various facilities, like a laundry for guests, a kitchen with very good quality food provided free of charge two times a day, a cafeteria available 24 hours a day for staff, patients, and their relatives, and many more. - Laboratory: Students can use the necessary lab facilities in a well-equipped laboratory with all the modern requirements.
- Library: UPUMS provides a library with textbooks, reference books, and 20 national and international journals in all disciplines of nursing.
