The College of New Jersey Campus
The TCNJ Campus Town contains a large sprawled out retail space with specialty stores, restaurants, entertainment venues, as well as a market for students to explore. The College of New Jersey Housing
TCNJ is a primarily undergraduate, residential college that has separate facilities for on-campus and off-campus residents. The policies at the residence halls are guided by the residential curriculum decided by the College. Each of the residence halls are designed to provide a different experience of housing for students in the USA.
- The on-campus residence halls are classified by First Year, Sophomore year, and Upper Class.
- The residence halls are supplied with vending and laundry facilities, mail boxes, communal space, 24-hour card swipe access. Rooms come with a bed, chair, dresser, closet or wardrobe, overhead light and two trash cans.
- The College maintains a list of off-campus residential options called the “Independent Housing Options” or IHO. There are also several hotels within 10 miles from the campus.

The College of New Jersey Scholarships
At TCNJ, the international students can qualify for the same scholarships as any out of state applicant. TCNJ offers merit and need-based scholarships to deserving students through awards within the range of 1000 to 6000 USD, bringing the total amount closer to the regular fees of in-state students. These scholarships are awarded every year. Recipients of these awards tend to rank within the top 20% of their high school’s graduating class.
Out of State Scholarships:
- The Lions Legacy Award is granted to the children of TSC / TCNJ alumni. Children of alumni from out-of-state would still be required to pay only the in-state tuition fees during four consecutive years of study if they meet the criteria.
- Lion’s Pride Need-Based Scholarship is awarded to merit scholarship recipient students who have demonstrated financial need. The Lion’s Pride award supplements the merit scholarship and the sum of the two scholarships can not exceed 12000 USD per year
- RaiseMe scholarships for TCNJ are awarded to qualifying students before and during the application review process based on their high school achievements.
Work While You Study
Student employment at The College of New Jersey is limited to current TCNJ students attending classes on a minimum of half-time status. This restriction is waived during the Summer, but the student employed cannot have already graduated in December or May. During the academic year 15 hours of work is allowed whereas in winter and summer break 35 hours of work is allowed.
