I opted for this particular college due to their Graduate program connections. They had many joint or accelerated programs that would allow you to bypass your senior year of Undergrad. I also had lots of study abroad options. Diverse student population. Close to the city.

Course Curriculum

4

The course curriculum was fair. However, it was not very challenging but contained a lot of busy work. I would have preferred a more flexible course schedule which would have allowed students to explore more courses outside of their major.

Exams

I took the PSAT subject tests in chemistry and biology and English. I also took the AP exams for those same subjects. For my SATS I scored around 1100.

Placement

4

It seems that the placement and job opportunities were also highly dependent on the student as well. Many students graduated without having a job lined up. However, being close to NYC provided many opportunities.

Internship

Yes, I believe our college had internships but it was dependent on your major. For biology, I don't think they had many such opportunities. It was very much up to the individual students to seek out their own internships from my understanding.

Events

4

The population was super diverse so we celebrated everything from black history month to Diwali. The school also put on dances which seemed to be popular amongst the students. Greek life was small but present.

Fees

The tuition was very very expensive. Around $35 thousand dollars per year. However, the school was good with financial aid and scholarship opportunities however it doesn't justify the price tag. It was not worth the price and students should do their research before deciding on a school.

Scholarship

Yes. I basically got an academic scholarship based on GPA and also googled and applied to a few smaller scholarships. The rest I covered through the federal student loan program.

Examination Structure

Usually multiple choice and some open-ended. I never had a take-home or open book exam which seems to become popular at different universities. I also did not have any project dependent or essay writing exams.

Faculty

4

The faculty at the college was mediocre. No well-known names. However, most of them seemed experienced and cared about their students. I didn't have strong opinions about them either way.

Hostel

4

I lived on campus all four years I a townhouse style dormitory. In my last two years, I worked as a resident assistant which luckily afforded me free housing for those years as I cared for those within the house.
