Jan Pimentel Review at Florida International University [FIU], Miami | Collegedunia

FIU is an awesome school and they help everyone that steps into that school and they make sure you do your best to leave that school with a degree.

8.7 /10

Local and close to my house, I didn't want to go out of state so I chose to go to this university because I knew I would be homesick especially going to school for 4 years would have destroyed me so I decided to just go to school locally.

Course Curriculum :

They were challenging but very good classes. They know that they have to really drain you in the teachings that they teach you but at the end of my time at FIU. I knew everything like the back of my hand because of what the professors taught me.

Exams :

ACT, I believe. I got a 20.8 on all boards I actually had these scores from high school and luckily I was able to use them when I applied to go to FIU so I don't have to take the test I just submitted my scores.

Placement :

They do have very good job placement programs, they try to get every student a job so they could leave the school with a success, before I graduated I tried scoring a job with them but unfortunately I didn't find anything with them but I did hear a lot of my friends got a job with FIU.

Internship :

I'm really not sure since I worked at my time at FIU, I really didn't take the time to see if they do have internships but I'm sure they do. I'm sure if they do, they will help you get into the right internship for you.

Events :

Homecoming was the only thing I could recall. There would be events through the university, at times the school would give free food, pep rallies at the gymnasium through the whole day for a week there would be various events and Jen the homecoming game. That's all. I could recall is necits been a few years.

Fees :

What I could recall was that I paid an application fee once, then after that every semester I paid classes and books that's all. But of course, it was a lot cheaper than a lot of people the lived there. I remember they would tell me they had to pay for room on board and food plus books and classes.

Scholarship :

Financial aid, all I really needed to do was to go on the FAFSA website and do what I needed to do and from there, there was no problem ever in my 4 years at the university. I didn't have any scholarships or any loans out during my time at the university.

Examination Structure :

Pretty simple before acceptance you take Your ACT then in your 4 years if you're in a specific program, you take an acceptance exam to get into the program. Once you're in the program, you take your midterms and finals through the end.

Faculty :

I truly do love FIU, it's an amazing public university the university has so many programs to take for everyone to take, great security great everything and the location is almost amazing not too far.

Hostel :

Since I was a local student, I lived with my parents so all I really have to do was drive to the university and then go home at the end of the day. I heard on the other hand that living at university was pretty affordable a lot of people that I knew told me that they needed to get jobs to support them and at times it was difficult for me to do both but of course not impossible.
